1. Gambler Challenge #1 – Win 5 Hands of Poker

  • Reward: Gambler Holster

To participate in Gambler Challenge #1, all you have to do is win five hands of poker. This can be accomplished quite effortlessly by employing strategic bluffs and making the right card choices. To get started, simply visit any of the following venues where poker games are available:

  • Flatneck Station
  • Saint Denis
  • Valentine
  • Blackwater
  • Tumbleweed

A successful poker strategy in Red Dead Redemption 2 often involves acting boldly by going “All-In” early on in the game, since many NPC opponents tend to wager small amounts and may be hesitant to risk their money against a player who bets aggressively. Additionally, players can strategize by targeting these hand rankings, listed from strongest to weakest:

1. Four of a Kind
2. Full House
3. Flush
4. Straight Flush
5. Three of a Kind
6. Two Pair
7. One Pair
8. High Card

  • Royal Flush – An Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 of the same suit (color)
  • Staright Flush – Five cards in a sequence, all of the same suit (color)
  • Four of a Kind – Four cards of the same number/rank
  • Full House – Three cards of the same number/rank, two cards of the same number/rank
  • Flush – Five cards of the same suit (color)

2. Gambler Challenge #2 – In Blackjack, Double Down and Win 5 Times

  • Reward: $5, 25 Dead Eye XP

In Gambler Challenge #2, participants must double their initial bet and win five consecutive hands. This task is relatively simple, relying solely on chance, but there are strategies to expedite it. To start, you should seek out a Blackjack table, which can be located at the following spots:

[Locations]

Here, your objective is to double down (increase your bet) and then win five rounds in succession. Good luck!

  • Van Horn
  • Rhodes
  • Blackwater

At the Blackjack table, the aim for players is to get their hand value as close to 21 without exceeding it, or in simpler terms, they should strive not to go over 21. A smart strategy is to Double Down on the smallest bet possible to conserve funds. Doubling Down means doubling your bet and receiving only one additional card. If a low number results or if players “bust” (go over 21), it could be beneficial to restart the game. The optimal spot for this strategy is at Rhodes, where taking the seat on the dealer’s left, which is the far right of the table, will enable players to swiftly leave and rejoin the game, being the first to play again.

3. Gambler Challenge #3 – Win 3 Games of Five Finger Fillet

  • Reward: Gambit Bandolier

The Five-Finger Filet is straightforward for anyone using a control device, since it necessitates defeating an adversary on three occasions. Here are the spots where you can find the Five-Finger Filet:

The Five-Finger Filet game is easy enough for people who use controllers, as all they have to do is beat their opponent three times. Here are some places where the Five-Finger Filet can be found:

  • Strawberry
  • Valentine
  • Van Horn

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about Five Finger Fillet! In this thrilling game, it’s all about entering Quick-Time-Events where you need to press the right controller buttons in a specific sequence to skillfully stab between your fingers without messing up. Each successful round adds points to your score within a circuit.

4. Gambler Challenge #4 – Bust One Poker Opponent Out in Each Location

  • Reward: $10, 50 Dead Eye XP

For the Gambler Challenge #4, participants must successfully eliminate poker opponents in three distinct venues, as detailed hereafter:

(or)

To win Gambler Challenge #4, you should defeat poker opponents in three separate locations, as follows:

(or)

In order to conquer Gambler Challenge #4, players need to knock out opponents playing poker at three different spots, as indicated below:

  • Flatneck Station
  • Saint Denis
  • Valentine

To effectively eliminate an opponent in a game, one should aim to reduce their chips or betting funds to zero. This can be achieved gradually over multiple rounds if you have a strong hand, by increasing your bets incrementally and responding to their bets, eventually forcing them to put all their chips in the pot. Alternatively, you could go All-In from the start and build up the pot slowly with each round.

5. Gambler Challenge #5 – Win 3 Rounds of Dominoes Without Drawing Any Tiles Against 2 or Fewer Opponents

  • Reward: $10, 50 Dead Eye XP

In the world of “Red Dead Redemption 2”, dominoes might seem a bit puzzling among the games available, but don’t worry! Here are the spots where you can engage in this mini-game to complete Gambler Challenge #5:

1. Rhodes (at the southern end of the town)
2. Valentine (in the saloon)
3. Saint Denis (near the docks)
4. Tumbleweed (in the saloon)
5. Annesburg (inside the saloon)

  • Emerald Station
  • Saint Denis
  • Blackwater

In this contest, it’s crucial to understand that winning three rounds, not an entire game, is the goal for players. The aim is to lay down all your dominoes in a round without needing to pick up any tiles, a situation that arises when players lack a compatible domino in their deck. The optimal spot for this strategy is Emerald Station since the Dominoes game mode is Draw. This means players only need to connect matching numbers to make the process easier.

6. Gambler Challenge #6 – Beat the Blackjack Dealer in Two Locations

  • Reward: $15, 100 Dead Eye XP

The sixth Gambler Challenge is notably simpler than the others as it simply asks players to victory over two distinct Blackjack Dealers on separate occasions. Here’s a list of Blackjack venues where they can find their opponents:

[List of Blackjack locations]

Players must secure victories in at least two of these places.

  • Van Horn
  • Rhodes
  • Blackwater

As a keen Blackjack player, my goal is to surpass the dealer’s score or achieve Blackjack (a hand totaling 21). The dealer generally stands when he has 18 or more, unless he busts by exceeding 21. So, while there’s an element of luck involved, it’s essentially about understanding the rules and not letting a losing streak affect my strategy too much.

7. Gambler Challenge #7 – Beat the Five Finger Fillet Player in Every Location

  • Reward: Gambler Gun Belt

This task is essentially identical to Gambler Challenge #3, as it necessitates players to win two rounds in a game of Five Finger Fillet against an opponent to emerge victorious. Interestingly, each location offers three opponents in total, but players can simplify this challenge by defeating only the initial and most straightforward opponent, then moving on to the next location. Here are all the locations where you can play Five Finger Fillet:

  • Strawberry
  • Valentine
  • Van Horn

8. Gambler Challenge #8 – Win Three Hands of Blackjack with Three Hits or More

  • Reward: $15, 100 Dead Eye XP

In Gambler Challenge #8, players will find themselves investing significant time due to its RNG-based nature and potential frustration. The task here is to win three rounds of Blackjack where the final hand consists of five or more cards. This implies that regardless of the initial two cards dealt, players must continuously opt for ‘Hit’ until they have five or more cards, while simultaneously outperforming the dealer without exceeding the limit and causing a ‘bust’.

For this challenge, the optimal location is Rhodes. To minimize your bet, place it at the lowest amount allowed. At the Rhodes Saloon, find the chair situated to the farthest right, next to the Dealer’s left side. This way, you’ll receive your cards first, allowing for a quick exit or entry if you don’t need another card (Hit) for a total of 5 cards and secure a win.

9. Gambler Challenge #9 – Win Three Games of Dominoes in a Row

  • Reward: $20, 150 Dead Eye XP

In Gambler Challenge #9, players must triumph in three consecutive games of Dominoes. Contrary to what many might believe, this task isn’t as tough due to a clever strategy that players can employ to preserve their progress. If players find themselves on the brink of defeat, they can simply disengage from the game and reconnect – it’s like nothing ever happened. Nevertheless, the most straightforward way to secure victory is at these two spots:

  • Saint Denis
  • Emerald Station

Saint Denis is praiseworthy because typically there’s only one rival, and the game mode is All Fives, which requires players to score points by linking a tile to an open end that must either match the number or end in a multiple of 5. A more accessible choice might be Emerald Station, for it often involves two opponents, but the gameplay is straightforward, simply involving players connecting tiles with identical numbers.

10. Gambler Challenge #10 – Win Three Hands of Poker in a Row

  • Reward: Gambler Off=Hand Holster

The last Gambler Challenge could potentially require some patience as it relies on RNG, but it’s certainly achievable. What players must do is secure victories in consecutive rounds of Poker, not entire games. This essentially translates to winning the main prize pool (the Big Pot) three times consecutively.

For Gambler Challenge #10, it’s advisable to move towards Flatneck Station and maintain an All-In approach, irrespective of the cards Arthur holds. This tactic should cause the two opponents to fold, but remember that this is a game of chance, so other NPCs may call your bluff and win.

After finishing all Gambler missions, players can then visit the Trapper in Saint Denis to buy the Gambler Equipment Bundle, which will boost the level of their Dead Eye skill.
