Since the festivities of 2024 Pokémon Day, no further details about this upcoming title have been disclosed. However, the trailer did confirm that the Mega Evolution battle feature will make a comeback. Unlike previous years, where a second Pokémon Presents airs in August, TPC chose not to broadcast one in 2024. This means that the 2025 Pokémon Day presentation will be the first since the previous episode and is likely to bring some exciting surprises and satisfy trainers’ curiosity.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Release Date and Gameplay

It’s no surprise that for the 2025 Pokémon Day event, Pokemon Legends: Z-A could make a big impact as the star attraction. With many unanswered questions about this 2025 game, TPC might want to provide trainers with a potential release date and some sneak peeks of early gameplay footage. Since Mega Evolution has been confirmed, it’s also crucial for Pokemon Legends: Z-A to explain how it differs from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and offer reasons for trainers to choose the game. Furthermore, it would be helpful if Pokemon Legends Z-A clears up whether the entire game takes place only in Lumiose City or if other areas of the Kalos region will be covered as well.

More Pokemon Games on the Nintendo Switch Online Apps

Although games like “Pokemon Snap” and “Pokemon Trading Card Game” have been made available on the Nintendo Switch Online platform, the primary “Pokemon” series has yet to appear. Despite the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, Nintendo intends to support the original Switch throughout that year. One possible way for Nintendo to demonstrate their commitment to the Switch system could be by finally making available the first three generations of mainline “Pokemon” games through their Game Boy and Game Boy Advance apps. 2025 looks to be an exciting year for trainers like myself as we’ll have plenty to keep us busy with ongoing content updates and new playable characters in games such as Pokemon Unite, Pokemon Masters EX, and Pokemon Cafe Mix. The mobile versions, Pokemon GO and Pokemon TCG Pocket, seem to be running full steam ahead too, so trainers should prepare for their continued presence during Pokemon Day. While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been a bit sporadic with Tera raids since the Shiny Rayquaza Five-Star Tera Raid in December, I can’t rule out the possibility of a challenging Tera Raid against a popular creature in the future.

If Gen 10 Is Absent, That’s a Good Thing

For decades now, the primary Pokemon series games have been launched approximately every three years. However, with the upcoming release of the Switch 2 and the technical issues that marred the debut of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2022, the next mainline Pokemon generation finds itself in a challenging situation. In light of the criticism about the game’s performance, The Pokemon Company has expressed openness to feedback regarding release schedules. Given the anticipated arrival of the Switch 2 in 2025 and the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise in 2026, it seems prudent to save the 10th mainline generation for the following year on a fresh system. This move would be advantageous in the long run.
