Once more, we’ve reached that season. Ubisoft has stepped into the limelight at the Six Invitational, a major global esports event, to showcase what lies ahead for Rainbow Six Siege. This year marks the game’s decade-long anniversary, and there are grand plans underway.
With the Six Invitational finale drawing near, Ubisoft unveiled an enormous trailer that sparked enthusiasm among spectators in Boston.

Still Getting Better
At Ubisoft, one of the game directors for Rainbow Six Siege, named Joshua Mills, visibly showed his feelings during the unveiling of the trailer. The presentation was solemn, filled with beloved characters from the series, a powerful soundtrack, and a retrospective glance at the Rainbow team’s past events.
Mills and Alex Karpazis, the creative director of Siege, made it clear that they’ve significantly enhanced anti-cheat measures and safeguards against malicious players before the Rainbow Six Siege Y10S1 update. They’ve been working closely with Battleye on this, resulting in over 19,000 cheaters being banned from R6S within a single month of January.
They additionally disclosed that since the launch of Y9S2, a drop of approximately 40% in ‘matches affected by cheaters’ has been observed.
Fresh Operator
In the upcoming Season 1 of Year 10 for Rainbow Six Siege, a brand new Operator is joining the team. Hailing straight from the New Zealand SAS, her name is Rauora. She brings an innovative cover deployment system that’s lightweight, enabling her to swiftly block doorways in mere seconds. With this feature, she can open and close doors at will, moving nimbly and easily disrupting defensive strategies.
Starting from the upcoming week, users will have an opportunity to experiment with Rauora on our testing platform, which we refer to as the ‘Deployable Omnilink Mesh’ (DOM) launcher.
Evolution
Mills and Karpazis highlighted an unprecedented development coming to Rainbow Six Siege this year, emphasizing that Operation Prep Phase is named as such because it’s laying the groundwork for something truly monumental. Shortly following this announcement, they unveiled a trailer showcasing ‘Siege X’.
Karpazis explained:
From now on, Rainbow Six Siege embarks on a fresh chapter, paving the way for approximately the subsequent decade to offer distinctive tactical experiences.
Siege X is set to deliver a significant overhaul for Rainbow Six Siege, but it’s important to note that this isn’t a sequel or the next version of the game. Further details will be unveiled on March 13 during a three-hour live event in Atlanta, and fans are encouraged to attend.
