In the course of advancing through the tale in “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2“, you gradually earn the ability to don superior armor and weaponry. Instead of merely wearing hose, you can now put on legitimate leg armor. The plated legs provide you with significantly enhanced protection during battle.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it’s not possible to simply wear metal leg armor over your undergarments. Instead, you must ensure that you have already equipped padded leg and foot protection before donning the armor. It’s unclear what constitutes padded foot protection in the game, though.
What Padded Foot Protection Does
If you attempt to put on the plated leg armor from your inventory, the game will prevent you from doing so. Instead, it advises you to acquire padded footwear before proceeding.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it is essential to don padded foot protection beneath your armor, and this must be equipped before anything else. The most apparent choice for such footwear would be the Padded Chausses. Given their uncommon nature as everyday attire, it’s not surprising if you’re unsure of their purpose.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, instead of telling you to secure ‘padded foot protection’, the game is emphasizing the need for leg protection, which is actually crucial.
How To Get Padded Foot Protection
To put it simply, you should look for Padded Chausses to wear beneath your leg armor. Notably, you can purchase these items from the Tailors in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
In the Trosky area, you won’t be able to acquire plate leg armor because you don’t gain access to it until the Kuttenberg region. However, most tailors in the second region usually have them for sale. As you can see from the screenshot above, a Tailor located in the heart of Kuttenberg City is where you can buy them.
As an alternative, you could acquire padded foot protection from guards and soldiers who are equipped with plate leg armor. If you manage to defeat them in battle, you can search their bodies for any Padded Chausses they might have been wearing. However, it’s important to ensure that no one witnesses you wearing these items or sees you stealing from the dead.
As a savvy gamer on the hunt for bargains, I’ve learned that I don’t always have to pay the full 150-170 Groschen for those Padded Chausses. With a bit of clever negotiating, I can often score a sweet deal and save some hard-earned coins!
