For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, February 28 might be a bittersweet day as at least nine games will no longer be available on the service by the end of the month. This month has been quite eventful for the platform, with many notable titles being added even to the lower tiers and the much-anticipated game “Avowed” getting a day-one release. However, just as new games are added to Xbox Game Pass, some older ones must depart.
In mid-February, Xbox Game Pass said goodbye to seven titles, all of which had been available for a full year. Games like “Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night”, “A Little to the Left”, and “Tales of Arise” joined the service in February 2024 but left after just twelve months. Although more fresh additions might compensate for their departure, it’s wise for subscribers to keep an eye on the upcoming list of games due to leave the platform to ensure they don’t miss out if they want to play them before they vanish.
Xbox had earlier mentioned that the games Yakuza 3 Remastered and Yakuza 4 Remastered, as well as Gris, would depart from Xbox Game Pass in February, marking the end of their four-year run on the service. However, it was not initially mentioned that F1 22 would also be leaving. Now, officially confirmed, this racing title will indeed bid farewell to Game Pass at the end of February. Since it is part of EA Play, which is only accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, not all users will be affected by its departure. This adds up to a total of nine games leaving in February.

For enthusiasts eagerly waiting for the launch of “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, it might be wise to delve into the soon-to-be-gone Yakuza games before they disappear. Although the third installment isn’t the most beloved within the series, Yakuza 4 is crucial for understanding recurring characters and enjoying the gameplay at its peak. The departure of “Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun” might be disappointing to some subscribers, but there are still a handful of other Warhammer games available on Xbox Game Pass for now.
Starting from February 28th, some beloved games on Xbox Game Pass will no longer be available, but this month has had its perks too! Blockbuster titles such as “Far Cry New Dawn” and the much-anticipated “Starfield” were added to Xbox Game Pass earlier in February, even for Standard subscribers. Furthermore, the day-one release of “Avowed” is another plus point. These additions might help offset the disappointment caused by the removal of some games for some players. However, it’s important to note that if you wish to play these nine games without buying them individually, you only have until February 28th to do so.
