Summary
- Characters like Eustass Kidd and Zoro love fighting to prove their strength and skills.
- Big Mom and Jesus Burgess are ruthless in battle and enjoy the thrill of combat.
- Vista and Gol D. Roger seek out strong opponents in order to push their abilities to the limit.
Given that One Piece is a shonen battle series, it’s understandable that it would be filled with numerous fierce battles. However, not everyone in this highly acclaimed series enjoys engaging in fights. In fact, there are many pacifists within the story who prefer to steer clear of confrontations whenever they can. Fortunately for them, there is an abundance of fighters ready to step up and engage in combat instead. Each of these brawlers revels in nothing more than a good head-to-head fight.
In the world of “One Piece,” these characters have a diverse approach towards combat. Some find pleasure in fighting, driven by their darker traits like sadism and violence. However, others are more focused on honing their abilities, always ready to measure their strength against any opponent who dares to cross their path. These characters stand out as formidable fighters within the series, their unquenchable thirst for growth making them almost compulsive about engaging in a fight with anyone who catches their eye.
8. Eustass Kid
Kid Prefers Letting His Mechanical Fist Do The Talking For Him
- First Appearance: Episode 392
In the Sabaody arc’s introduction, it becomes immediately evident that among the Worst Generation, Kid stands out as the most brutal and ruthless. In reality, Kidd is a captain who revels in cruelty, finding delight in degrading his adversaries. As such, if anyone dares to ridicule him or his crew, Kidd will eagerly engage in combat without hesitation.
Nevertheless, Kid’s fixation on conflicts presents one of his major weaknesses. This is clearly demonstrated when he attempts to confront Shanks, resulting in a humiliating defeat and a lasting scar. Despite appearing to tone down a bit as the narrative progresses, Kid remains eager for a fight whenever an opportunity arises.
7. Ideo
This Boxer Will Throw Down With Anyone Who Thinks They Can Survive His Punches
- First Appearance: Episode 633
In the Dressrosa arc, Ideo, despite limited screen presence, effectively demonstrated why he is so dreaded among pirate circles during the Colosseum tournament. As a boxer vying for the Mera Mera no Mi, though he didn’t secure the victory in the end, it was evident that he relished in defeating his adversaries mercilessly, leaving them beaten and defeated.
As part of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, Ideo gets to hone his punching skills against an assortment of distinctive adversaries. Though his motivations may not always be pure, there’s no denying that he relishes any chance to engage in a good fight.
6. Zoro
To Become The World’s Greatest Swordsman, Zoro Will Challenge Anyone To Prove His Strength
- First Appearance: Episode 1
After Zoro pledged to Mihawk that he’d be the world’s best swordsman, he understood it meant challenging any and all who could wield a blade. Consequently, whenever there’s an opportunity to fight sword-wielding opponents like Ryuma, for instance, Zoro is eager to take it.
To put it simply, Zoro is always eager to use his swords against opponents who don’t need them, as long as these encounters provide a platform for him to demonstrate his latest skills and prowess. Every fight he engages in is considered valuable to him, and prior to his battle with Kaido, most of his fights post-timeskip were relatively straightforward, yet they all served to highlight the new techniques and knowledge he acquired during his training under Mihawk.
5. Big Mom
Big Mom May Seem Loving On The Surface, But She Still Enjoys Getting Stuck Into A Brutal Fight Every Now And Again
- First Appearance: Episode 571
Appearances can often be misleading. At first sight, Big Mom might seem like a kindly old grandmother, but her years with the Rocks have transformed her into a ruthless pirate, always eager for conflict. In terms of raw power, few in the One Piece world can rival her might.
During the Whole Cake Island storyline, Big Mom appears to enjoy herself as she skillfully fends off Luffy’s assaults, and when squaring off against Kidd and Law, she admits that it’s been a while since she’s felt such excitement. Despite not always appearing joyful when hungry, Big Mom revels in battle situations, as she is confident about emerging victorious every time.
4. Vista
A Loyal Member Of Whitebeard’s Crew Who Will Happily Cross Swords With Anyone Who Can Make Him Stronger
- First Appearance: Episode 473
Vista made his debut during the Marineford Arc, where he expressed a strong desire to engage in sword combat with the formidable Mihawk. While Vista isn’t extensively featured throughout the story, this encounter indicates that he is a man who relishes opportunities to test his prowess against others who carry swords, enabling him to measure his abilities against theirs.
It’s uncertain if he aspires to become the world’s foremost swordsman like Zoro, but it’s strongly implied that he’s a sea-faring outlaw who derives great pleasure from testing an adversary to their utmost with his extraordinary sword skills.
3. Jesus Burgess
Blackbeard’s Right-Hand Man Loves Throwing His Weight Around
- First Appearance: Episode 146
Given that Jesus Burgess sailed alongside the notorious pirate Blackbeard, it was unlikely that he would employ his hidden power for righteous purposes. Instead, Burgess is known for brutally attacking anyone perceived as an adversary to the Blackbeard pirates. During the Dressrosa arc, he demonstrated an incredible ability to overpower several opponents simultaneously, emerging from these conflicts with a grin on his face.
In a nutshell, I find Jesus to be an unparalleled force, exuding an aura of contentment that seems to strike fear into those who cross him or Blackbeard. To put it simply, his towering presence often gives him the upper hand in confrontations, making him a formidable pirate indeed.
2. Charlotte Cracker
Cracker Enjoys Mocking And Belittling His Opponents While Smothering Them With Biscuit Soldiers
- First Appearance: Episode 796
As soon as Luffy and Nami step foot on Whole Cake Island, they run into one of Big Mom’s numerous offspring: Charlotte Cracker. Cracker possesses the Bisu Bisu no Mi fruit, which grants him the ability to manufacture and control biscuits. He employs this power in his battle against Luffy by deploying an army of biscuit soldiers.
In the battle, it’s evident that Cracker finds excessive pleasure in the disorder, frequently ridiculing Luffy and boosting his own self-importance. Given his reaction to confronting Luffy, it seems that delighting in tearing people apart with his Devil Fruit is one of his favorite pastimes. However, this dynamic changes when the situation is reversed against him.
1. Gol D. Roger
Made It No Secret That He’s A Fan Of Intense Fights
- First Appearance: Episode 1
As a swashbuckling enthusiast, I’m not the type to stir up trouble for its own sake. Instead, I find myself drawn to those who can truly test my mettle in a duel – warriors like Whitebeard, for instance. The thrill of an intense clash is something we both seem to share, and yet it’s remarkable how quickly we can transition from blades drawn to sharing a drink, as if these skirmishes are just another ordinary part of our day.
Given Roger’s incredible strength that often seems unrealistic, it’s surprising yet true that he welcomes any opponent brave enough to face him. This is to test if they can leave a single trace on the renowned pirate. In every frenzied brawl, Roger consistently sports a broad grin, demonstrating his deep-seated affection for the exhilaration of combat.
