Get ready for the final battle at the summit of Mount Olympus.
Supergiant Games has unveiled a significant update, called the Warsong Update, for Hades II. This update includes numerous balance tweaks, but the most exciting new features are the introduction of Ares, an Olympian character, and his special abilities for Melinoë. Additionally, there’s a fresh challenge at the end of the game’s surface route as you ascend Mount Olympus.
For those interested, Supergiant has made available the complete patch notes for perusal. Alternatively, players can choose to listen to an engaging narration by the game’s enigmatic storyteller.
New Allies For Melinoë

As an avid follower, I’m thrilled about one of the standout features in the Warsong Update – the arrival of Olympian Ares, the deity of war himself! Not only does he bring his unique set of Boons for Melinoë to pick from, but he also introduces a fresh Duo dynamic with other primary providers of these powerful benefits.
A fresh addition to our alliance is Gale the Polecat, an innovative pet that boosts Melinoë’s evasive skills and can completely shield her from harm.
In the final stretch of the surface route, not only have some new allies been introduced, but also formidable foes – Warden and a newly-introduced Guardian. These adversaries will make the journey more challenging for you.
The illustrations and abilities for each card within the Arcana system were not only updated but completely overhauled as well, featuring fresh artwork.
Additionally, there are recent enhancements to the Crossroads Renewal Project, introducing fresh attractions and additional ornamental elements for players to discover. Occasionally, Artemis can be found in this area, providing melodious background music and offering chances for her and Melinoë to perform a duet.
Regarding the topic of tunes, the Warsong Update introduces several fresh compositions. Consequently, the latest battle at the game’s surface route finale, along with other additions, comes accompanied by new melodies. Additionally, unique musical motifs for characters Icarus and Echo are also introduced. Notably, all these new tunes can be unlocked to play within the Music Maker.
The trailer and update details reveal some significant new features, although there are more to come. Hades II, which remains in early access, is committed to incorporating player suggestions into its design, as evident by the marked community-requested changes in the patch notes.
Based on another Steam post update, they intend to incorporate additional secrets, intensify the Guardian battles (which are already challenging in this game), and deepen the storyline as they progress towards their ultimate release. Regardless of how these changes unfold, Hades II continues to thrive, and it’s only going to improve with time.
