As we bid farewell to the era of the Nintendo Switch, it’s hard not to feel a sense of anticipation as the esteemed Legend of Zelda series appears to have a vacancy in its release calendar. The Nintendo Switch has been an exceptional platform for Zelda, with hits like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, as well as other remarkable titles such as the two Hyrule Warriors entries and the latest Echoes of Wisdom. With the imminent arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, we can expect more Zelda games and possibly even more spin-offs like the Hyrule Warriors series to grace our screens soon. Fans won’t have to wait too long before we hear more exciting updates about these upcoming masterpieces.

The chances for a new installment of the third Hyrule Warriors game appear promising, although at this point it’s mainly conjecture. The previous games, such as Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, have been impressive additions to the Zelda series and Breath of the Wild, respectively, and the continued popularity of Dynasty Warriors strengthens the possibility of Nintendo and Koei Tecmo collaborating on another Zelda-inspired Warriors game for the second Switch. Moreover, with each Hyrule Warriors game exploring different aspects of the Zelda universe, there’s still plenty of room for more adaptation, and one specific character seems particularly fitting for a Warriors spin-off.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about the potential for more characters in future Hyrule Warriors games. While both the original and the Age of Calamity titles have an impressive roster, there are still some fan favorites who haven’t had their moment yet. Characters like Groose from Skyward Sword, Vaati from The Minish Cap, and even characters from the Four Swords games could finally get their chance to shine in a sequel. Age of Calamity has done an excellent job of making almost every notable character in Breath of the Wild playable, but there are a few who could have been included as DLC. Characters like Kass, the minstrel from Breath of the Wild, and Astor, the original villain from Age of Calamity, come to mind. However, with another Zelda title now available, there’s even more potential for a third Hyrule Warriors game to draw from!

A Hyrule Warriors Adapting Tears of the Kingdom Could Work Wonders

The Tears of the Kingdom is the third game set in the world of Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity’s Hyrule, offering potential for another installment of Hyrule Warriors. Fans have suggested a title like ‘Hyrule Warriors: The Imprisoning War’, which could mirror ‘Age of Calamity’. This hypothetical game might be set in the past portrayed in Tears of the Kingdom’s Dragon Tear memories, where Link and Zelda travel back in time. This would lead to a new Hyrule Warriors game, focusing on the war against Demon King Ganondorf, with the ancient Sages playing significant roles. The Sages could benefit from more screen time, but players might be more excited about uncovering the history of their adversary.

Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf Must Be In The Next Hyrule Warriors

It’s important that the upcoming “Hyrule Warriors” game either focuses on the Imprisoning War or is simply “Hyrule Warriors 2,” but it should definitely feature Ganondorf from “Tears of the Kingdom” as a playable character. Regardless of personal views on the storyline, many agree that this version of Ganondorf is one of the game’s best aspects. From his various designs to his voiceovers in multiple languages, the menacing presence of Phantom Ganon, and culminating in the epic final boss fight of “Tears of the Kingdom,” this iteration of the Gerudo king has won over fans. Including him as a playable character in a “Warriors” game just seems fitting.

Independent of how the upcoming game, “Hyrule Warriors“, unfolds, it’s crucial that Demon King Ganondorf is prominently featured. He could have the ability to wield multiple weapons, similar to Link in “Age of Calamity“. Furthermore, his Demon King transformation might take on a unique role – it could be a standalone character or serve as a special power-up option. The Stones from “TotK” that trigger this form could also impact a broader gameplay mechanic, possibly resembling the Fairy system from the original “Hyrule Warriors” or the Sheikah Slate abilities from the second one. Although a new version of “Hyrule Warriors” is currently hypothetical, it should capitalize on making Ganondorf playable when it becomes reality.
