Summary
- InZOI will include seasons in the base game, contrasting with The Sims which offers seasonal weather only through DLC.
- Players will have to dress their characters appropriately for weather in InZOI to avoid detrimental effects like sickness or death.
- InZOI’s world will feature four seasons, with different regions having varying climates, catering to player preferences.
InZOI now includes seasons as a standard feature in the main game, marking a significant departure from its rival The Sims, which offers seasons exclusively as downloadable content and not as part of the base game.
It appears that InZOI has left quite an impact on many gamers with its initial showcase. This game seems to be a promising contender for life simulator enthusiasts, offering realistic graphics, a detailed character creation tool, and a vast open world that players can shape to their liking. The Sims fans are intrigued to see if InZOI can truly hold its own in this genre, and now the game is unveiling a unique feature to set it apart.
Previously mentioned, InZOI was expected to display varying weather conditions. However, it has been officially revealed by creative director Hyungjun Kim that at launch, the base game will feature actual seasons. Instead of a blend of weather scenarios, the game will encompass all four seasons, necessitating players’ Zois to adapt to the seasonal weather changes, much like real-life individuals do. Failure to dress Zois appropriately for the current season could lead to health issues such as illness or even death, whether it’s excessive heat or cold. Players will have the option to select a seasonally suitable wardrobe for their Zoi to switch into when weather conditions require it.
InZOI Seasons and The Sims
As a dedicated gamer who’s been hooked on The Sims series since The Sims 2, I can’t help but feel the pinch every time I hear the word “DLC” when it comes to enjoying seasonal weather in my game. It’s not just about spending extra cash, it’s also about the wait that comes with it. Games like The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 took three years each before their Seasons DLC was released, and The Sims 4 players had to endure a four-year wait.
It’s not just about the graphical improvements and new gameplay elements that each new iteration brings; it’s also about the features we love, like seasons, pets, and more, being withheld until later DLC releases. This can be quite frustrating for us players, as we eagerly wait to fully immerse ourselves in our Sims’ lives.
For those who enjoy sunny environments for their Zoi characters, they can certainly find that option within the game world of InZOI. The game’s setting, Dowon, will have four seasons with harsh winters and scorching summers, much like real-world areas with such climates. However, Bliss Bay within Dowon will be predominantly warm all year round, similar to the climate in Southern California, its inspiration.
As many gamers are yet to experience gameplay beyond InZOI’s character creator demo, it remains uncertain if the game can live up to players’ expectations, particularly when set against the colossal life sim series, The Sims. Assuming there are no more delays, fans will be able to judge for themselves once InZOI’s early access becomes available in March.
