After almost four years, popular Twitch streamer Asmongold has decided to leave the gaming and entertainment company One True King (OTK), which he helped establish in 2020 alongside other well-known streamers. Over time, OTK became a recognized name within the gaming and streaming community due to their efforts.

In October 2024, a disagreement between Asmongold and OTK ensued due to controversial comments he made about Palestinians while streaming. After receiving criticism, his secondary Twitch account, ZackRawrr, was swiftly banned. The following day, he posted a YouTube video expressing regret for his words. In the video, Asmongold also announced that he would be relinquishing his leadership positions at OTK and Starforge Systems, a company specializing in gaming PC production. He explained this decision as a means of taking responsibility for his actions and striving to improve personally moving forward.

During my latest livestream, someone asked if I had been kicked out of the OTK group. To clarify, I’m no longer a part of OTK and haven’t been for quite some time. Now, I’m focusing all my efforts on my personal content creation.

I decided to step away because my streams, which often express strong political viewpoints, didn’t align with the direction that OTK wanted to take as a team. My content can be seen as extreme and polarizing, making it challenging for me to secure sponsors or collaborate with those who prefer safer options.

In essence, this conflict between my creative approach and the goals of OTK was one of the main reasons things didn’t work out in the end. Now, I’m embarking on a solo journey.

Asmongold Reveals Reason for Leaving OTK

One reason Asmongold decided to part ways was his wish to avoid burdening others with his controversial content. He stated that his departure from OTK was a mutual agreement, but even if it wasn’t, he would have been okay with it. It’s noteworthy that Asmongold isn’t the only one who has recently left the organization; Twitch streamer Tectone announced in November that he was no longer affiliated with OTK as well.

The departure of Asmongold from his main Twitch channel, which boasts over 3.5 million followers, has had an impact on OTK, as the content he produces can sometimes cause controversy that might negatively affect a brand. Taking a step back could help keep some of the heat off the group. For instance, Asmongold found himself in a public dispute with Elon Musk recently when he challenged Musk to reach level 97 in Path of Exile 2 on Twitter, if Musk could prove it was legitimate.

Leaving his Twitch channel, where he has more than 3.5 million followers, may have been tough for OTK as Asmongold’s content can sometimes stir up trouble that might harm a brand. Stepping back could help reduce some of the controversy surrounding the group.
