Witnessing your strategy unfold in real-life situations and completing missions with a three-star evaluation is incredibly rewarding, but it’s not as simple as it sounds. This game offers a significant challenge, and each decision you make will influence the outcome of the mission. a) Understand your objectives: Clearly define your goals before executing any plan. Focus on completing primary objectives first, then move on to secondary ones if possible.

Sometimes, enemies can be missed because they’re in front of or behind areas that are not visible to your characters. Characters only see what’s in front of them within a specific angle (cone), and their backs remain obscured unless you have another character providing backup.

1. By clicking the right mouse button, you can adjust the direction your character will be facing manually.

2. While placing waypoints, ensure to adjust your character’s field of view at certain locations to prevent them from blundering into a house filled with enemies without seeing them first.

7. Using the Slow Motion Button

Slow down time to fine tune your movement

Instead of pausing the game entirely when you need a moment to strategize, consider using slow motion instead. Press the ‘L’ key on your keyboard during critical moments such as breaching walls with explosives or opening doors. This will not only slow down the action but also enhance your operator’s vision range.

Pressing the L button again deactivates the Slow Motion.

From a gamer’s perspective, I always make sure to scrutinize every nook and cranny, especially those with windows. You never know who or what might be hiding inside, ready for an unexpected attack! So, before executing my strategy, I take the time to peek through these openings for a sneaky advantage on my enemies.

5. Activate Colored Plans

Don’t mix up your operators

As a gamer, I often find myself in charge of a team of operatives, with their paths defaulting to white. However, when the missions get larger and more complex, it can quickly turn into a whirlwind of activity. With so many operators moving around and all the paths looking identical due to their shared color, keeping track of who’s going where becomes quite the challenge.

Great news! I found an easy solution for that issue. Head over to Settings and toggle on the Color Coding in the Game tab. You can customize it based on two options: Individual or Class. If you pick Individual, each character’s path will be assigned a unique color. In case of Class, operators belonging to different classes will display distinct colors.

4. Understanding Operator Stats

The skills of the operator matters

In the team you lead, each soldier has unique attributes that improve as you successfully complete more operations together. These key attributes can be categorized into three main areas:

Marksmanship: Determines the soldier’s accuracy.
Assault Shooting: determines the soldier’s aim speed.
Field Skill: Determines how quickly the soldier handles equipment such as explosives, crowbars, or lockpicks.

After earning Battle Honors, you can enhance your character by adding additional benefits, making them more effective during missions. As only the characters deployed on missions receive stat increases, it’s advisable to focus on using between four and eight characters for upgrades rather than attempting to improve all 20 in your team.

The operatives also get promoted as you earn levels by clearing missions with them.

3. Diversify Your Loadout

Don’t use the same loadout on each character

Every operative belonging to a particular class comes equipped with a predetermined loadout as standard. To illustrate, within the Rangers squad, there are four distinct classes: Assault, Support, Marksman, and Grenadier. The Assault Class initially carries a well-rounded M16A4 Rifle that caters to both long-range and close combat situations.

In cramped combat situations, a M1014 Shotgun could prove more dependable. Take a look at the various weapons offered for each class and utilize the Stars you’ve earned from completing missions to expand your arsenal, providing greater versatility during breaches.

In my experience, personally opening the door with my own hands in a large room often proves more advantageous. It’s less noisy, allowing me to take that crucial, unnoticed shot first when dealing with tricky situations.
