Exploring supernatural activities within the game Phasmophobia isn’t a walk in the park, and it puts even the most experienced ghost hunters to the test with numerous tasks. One of the toughest among these tasks is the Weekly Challenges where players engage with ghosts under unique, testing circumstances every week. The level of difficulty for these challenges can fluctuate, but they’re always worth tackling for the rewards they bestow.
One of the toughest weekly tasks in Phasmophobia is the Gotta Go Fast challenge, where speed can either aid or hinder you on one of the game’s notorious maps. If you’re struggling to finish this challenge, here are some helpful tips that can assist you in tackling this formidable task:
– Plan your approach and strategy before entering the haunted location. This will help you move swiftly and efficiently once inside.
– Communication is key! Make sure to coordinate with your team members to cover different areas of the map effectively.
– Use equipment like flashlights, salt, or holy water wisely, as they can help you detect paranormal activity faster.
– Stay alert for any sudden changes in the environment, as these could indicate the presence of a ghost.
– If you find yourself cornered or overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to retreat and regroup with your team before trying again.
– Practice makes perfect! The more you play, the better you’ll understand the nuances of each map and the strategies needed to complete the Gotta Go Fast challenge successfully.
What is Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia?
Weekly Task Mode: Challenge in the game Phasmophobia presents a unique and tough investigation experience on a particular map, which can be undertaken solo or with a team. These investigations are crafted to push your abilities to the limit against ghosts in asymmetrical situations, where you might encounter one or more disadvantages while the ghost gains specific advantages. Each weekly challenge is distinct, so don’t assume they’ll follow the same rules or provide the same tools from one week to the next.
Regarding the gear, when you engage in Challenge Mode, you’ll start with a pre-selected kit, which is non-adjustable. This equipment comes at no additional cost, regardless of whether you complete or fail the investigation. Keep in mind that each challenge presents a different arrangement of gear, often leaning towards specific tiers (Tier 1-3). Occasionally, certain tools might be absent altogether. For instance, one mission might not provide Sanity Medication, while another could lack Video Cameras.
As a fan, I need to make sure I complete the weekly Challenge Mode’s task thrice to get full credit. The challenges don’t have to be done in a row, but they should be on the specified map. To ensure my success is recognized, I must correctly identify the ghost’s identity for each challenge. Upon successfully completing my third challenge investigation, I will earn a base reward of $5,000, along with any additional points from optional objectives, photos, and so forth.
Every week, the Challenge Mode inside the game gets refreshed on Sundays, similar to other weekly assignments. Remember to wrap up your three investigations before the countdown for the reset concludes in order to secure the entire reward.
How to Complete Gotta Go Fast Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia

In the game Phasmophobia, the Gotta Go Fast challenge is undeniably one of the toughest weekly challenges, surpassing others such as the Tortoise and the Hare (Tortoise) in difficulty. This is primarily due to its demanding nature: you must traverse the Prison, one of the game’s largest and most perplexing maps, under heavy equipment restrictions, character stat limitations, and while dealing with ghostly hunts. However, during this challenge, the ghost is granted an extraordinary speed boost, making it extremely challenging to evade it.
To be specific, the rules and conditions for this challenge include the following:
- Players start with 0% sanity which cannot be recovered (despite the presence of sanity medication) and the van’s sanity monitor is broken
- All ghosts exhibit 125% ghost speed
- All players exhibit 125% player speed (stamina depletion is still present)
- Most doors in the location will start open
- There are no legitimate hiding spots anywhere on the map
- The location’s fuse box is permanently broken (similar to the Glow in the Dark challenge)
- There is no setup time
- Weather is randomized for each investigation
In this scenario, you, as the player, should be ready and focused right from the start of the investigation because there’s a significant chance that the ghost could begin a chase immediately upon your entrance to the prison.

Using only top-tier tools at your disposal, you’ll need to think outside the box to effectively utilize and adapt them for practical purposes. Notably absent from your gear are two essential items: Crucifixes and Incense. These items play a crucial role in warding off ghosts during hunts or even preventing their appearance entirely. As such, this challenge strips away that protective barrier.
Among the assortment of enchanted artifacts at your disposal, take caution when employing them, for their potency increases if used without a shred of sanity, potentially making them even more hazardous to handle.
Your top priority should be to find out where the ghost is residing quickly. The most practical (and secure) method for this task using your given equipment is by making use of a Parabolic Microphone. Although it’s merely a Tier 1 model, you can still detect the approximate area where the ghost is active due to the noises it generates while moving objects, opening doors, or interacting with items like showers and sinks.
The EMF Reader can help detect nearby activity, but due to the malfunctioning fuse box, temperature readings might become tricky. In case a ghost decides to make an appearance while you’re investigating, remember to discard the Parabolic Microphone or EMF Reader promptly and flee, as ghosts are attracted to electrical devices. Even minor ghost-hunting tips like these can be just as crucial as overall investigation strategies.

After identifying the ghost’s whereabouts, promptly gather your essential tools for collecting proof, typically consisting of a Ghost Writing Book, a DOTs projector, and possibly a Spirit Box. Gadgets like Salt and UV Lights can be hazardous as they require prolonged exposure in the ghost’s area to detect UV traces, potentially increasing the risk of danger.
To better understand and possibly catch the ghost, employ the built-in camera system to follow its movements or search for Ghost Orbs. Additionally, pay close attention to the ghost’s behavior for identification purposes. Although speed isn’t a reliable indicator due to buffing, other distinctive traits can offer valuable insights. For example, a Poltergeist exhibits stronger object-throwing aggression, while an Obake switches its ghostly appearance during a hunt.
In this task, the danger to your character is incredibly high, so staying alert and maintaining a safe distance is crucial. It’s best to do this challenge with friends or other players, if available, as teamwork significantly increases your chances of success. This way, when you eventually triumph, everyone can share in the rewards.
