As a dedicated Overwatch 2 gamer, I’ve noticed that the latest hotfix has transformed all my Epic Souvenirs into Rare quality items. This means these coveted cosmetics will no longer pop up in Loot Boxes offering guaranteed high-tier items. Instead, when we unwrap our Epic rewards from these Loot Boxes, we’ll continue to be thrilled with exciting goodies such as skins, victory poses, emotes, weapon charms, or highlight intros!
Season 15 in Overwatch 2 introduced significant modifications, such as the gameplay-adjusting Perks leveling mechanism. Yet, one of the most thrilling aspects of this update was the reintroduction of Loot Boxes – a reward system reminiscent of a lottery, which had been eliminated at the end of the original Overwatch.
A week following the comeback of Loot Boxes in Overwatch 2, a minor adjustment was made that significantly affected the drop rate of rare loot boxes. This modification, not mentioned in any patch notes, upgraded all Souvenirs to Rare quality, including the infamous Epic Winton Souvenir from Overwatch 2. The purpose of this change seems to be to prevent Souvenirs from appearing as Epic drops from Loot Boxes. Now, only skins, victory poses, emotes, weapon charms, or highlight intros can be found at the Epic rarity level.
All Overwatch 2 Souvenirs are Now Rare
In Overwatch 2, souvenirs function much like cosmetic emotes and were introduced at the game’s start. Every character has a unique animation that plays for these souvenirs, regardless of their specific item. The game offers more than 100 souvenir options, all of which can be utilized by any hero. However, keep in mind that souvenirs share the same slots as emotes, so only a maximum of four emotes or souvenirs can be equipped on each character at once.
Enthusiasts of the game Overwatch 2 are delighted about the recent alteration in Souvenirs. However, these cosmetic items have not been widely appreciated due to the inconsistencies in some heroes’ animations and the competition with emotes. The change now makes all Souvenirs Rare, allowing fans who prefer them to acquire them more effortlessly. This adjustment also guarantees that players won’t be disappointed when they expect a skin or other engaging customization from their Epic Loot Box but only receive these less popular items.
Currently, fans have ample chances to obtain numerous Loot Boxes. In the latest update of Overwatch 2, it’s been announced that over 100 Loot Boxes will be accessible during Season 15 via in-game challenges, Discord programs, and various other methods. By opening these Loot Boxes, players can now get a clearer picture of the Epic items they could potentially discover.
