To mark the ninth anniversary of the beloved game, Stardew Valley, its developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone rolled out an update on the Nintendo Switch version. This update includes multiple bug fixes and exciting new features. Additionally, fans of Stardew Valley are eagerly anticipating a new physical deluxe edition for the Nintendo Switch platform.
Despite ConcernedApe focusing on his upcoming game, “Haunted Chocolatier,” he remains dedicated to providing updates and support for “Stardew Valley.” In fact, ConcernedApe mentioned that “Stardew Valley” might still receive updates even 50 years down the line, showcasing his enduring passion for his initial hit game. Recently, ConcernedApe collaborated with Fangamer again to launch a new “Stardew Valley” deluxe edition exclusively for Nintendo Switch. This week, the Nintendo Switch version of the game received one of its most significant updates yet – version 1.6.15.1.
On February 26, an update for Stardew Valley was released on Nintendo Switch to mark the game’s ninth anniversary. The developer, Barone, shared details about the update on his official Twitter account, ConcernedApe. This new version, 1.6.15.1, offers performance improvements tailored for the Nintendo Switch platform. Additionally, a Junimo bundle button has been incorporated into fridges and mini-fridges in this release. The legendary fish ponds now yield more roe with each catch, and the daily value of roe has increased on average. Moreover, players will no longer lose their caught fish if they faint during fishing or while carrying it. Furthermore, ConcernedApe added new reactions for spouses when interacting with them beyond regular dialogue, and hinted at new Easter eggs to be found by players.
To enhance the gaming experience for native speakers, the translations of Stardew Valley in French, Russian, Hungarian, and Japanese were refined. Additionally, numerous Switch-specific problems within Stardew Valley were fixed. This included a glitch that muted Joy-Con and Pro Controller vibration under certain circumstances. The frequent crashes experienced by players have been largely resolved with update 1.6.15.1, resulting in a more consistent gaming experience for Stardew Valley going forward.
Enthusiasts of the game, Stardew Valley, on Xbox and PlayStation consoles received update 1.6.15.1 on February 12, synchronizing these versions with the most recent PC version. Further updates for Stardew Valley are anticipated in 2025, although it’s doubtful that a launch date for Haunted Chocolatier will be revealed this year. However, there might be smaller announcements and updates related to Haunted Chocolatier this year, while continuous content for Stardew Valley may serve as a temporary delight for fans until then.
