Massive Entertainment, the developers behind Star Wars Outlaws, have rolled out an unusual update for this title across all platforms. Earlier in August, Star Wars Outlaws was one of the most eagerly awaited AAA games of 2024, primarily because it marked the debut of the first open-world Star Wars game. However, upon its release, it sparked a lot of debate among gamers due to its strong focus on stealth, with some players expressing disappointment.
Regardless of the initial rough start for the release of “Star Wars Outlaws,” Ubisoft has pledged continued support for the game through various post-launch updates and story DLCs. The first DLC focusing on Sabacc, Wild Card, was discreetly introduced in November, while a second DLC called A Pirate’s Fortune is set to debut this Spring. In terms of patches and improvements, one significant change made since the game’s launch involves eliminating instant failure during the numerous stealth-oriented missions, which has been well-received by gamers who prefer a more run-and-gun approach.
Currently, near the finale of the development plan for “Star Wars Outlaws”, the creators at Massive Entertainment have released a minor update for all platforms. Titled Update 1.5.2, this patch is compact, taking up minimal storage space (a few GB) on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The list of changes is brief. For PC users, it addresses two issues concerning fog and cloud rendering related to ray reconstruction. In the case of PlayStation players, a bug that leads to the game crashing when using photo mode has been addressed.
Interestingly, the patch notes for “Star Wars Outlaws” Update 1.5.2 don’t seem to address any issues pertaining to the Xbox version of the game, even though this version is significantly larger (around 4 GB) compared to its PC and PS5 counterparts. However, Massive Entertainment does acknowledge another bug in their patch notes, which prevents players from leaving Kay’s ship The Trailblazer for space travel. They assure fans that a fix for this problem will be addressed in a future update. In the meantime, players who encounter this issue can temporarily resolve it by reloading a manual save.
Despite the fact that the Season Pass for Star Wars Outlaws is almost completed, the last entry on its list is the A Pirate’s Fortune story DLC, which Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have yet to announce a release date for. Fans are encouraged to monitor Star Wars Outlaws‘ social media accounts for more information about this expansion. It’s possible that the game’s roadmap might be extended this summer as it gets closer to its one-year anniversary in August.
