Blades of Fire Brings the Familiar Lords of Shadow Look

According to the announcement, “Meet Aran de Lira, the final hero capable of handling steel, and Adso, a youthful scholar with expertise in forgotten legends and ancient languages that could determine their destiny. Master the game’s exceptional ‘weapons smithing’ system to create an almost endless variety of weapon designs, and use these weapons to overthrow the Queen. By combining numerous alloys, hilts, runes, blades, and impactful edges, craft and refine the ultimate tool for vanquishing evil. Each type of enemy will present distinct challenges – every weapon you create will address those challenges.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS ALONE: Aran has a friend named Adso, a thoughtful scholar who gets involved in heroic adventures by chance. He may not be a warrior, but his intelligence and vast knowledge will certainly come in handy. He watches, learns, and records their journey, providing insights that could shift the balance of battles. More importantly, he knows the ancient language of the divine craftsmen – a tool to unravel the enigmas they’ll encounter ahead.

Stay Alert: More than 50 distinct types of adversaries, such as the Queen’s guards, monsters, undead, and others await you. Each opponent possesses a unique combat style, choice of weapons, and armor configuration.

AN ADVENTURE FILLED WITH MYSTERIES: Aran and Adso set out on a perilous journey with a defined goal but a path fraught with danger, enigmas, and grandeur, including colossal castles, labyrinthine palaces, among other wonders. Along the way, you’ll uncover secrets as our heroes do, relying on your instincts and bravery to guide you through unknown territories.

After the release of games by MercurySteam following Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, they didn’t garner significant success critically or commercially.

2010 saw the launch of Lords of Shadow across platforms like PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. This title served as a fresh take on the Castlevania series, offering an engaging action-adventure experience with an enthralling narrative. Our previous review emphasized the game’s impressive boss battles and cinematics as key attractions.

Regrettably, the sequel, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, suffered from technical flaws and lackluster gameplay that failed to meet its promise, as our review pointed out, awarding it a score of 5.5/10. Closing the trilogy was Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, which unfortunately didn’t see a home console launch and instead was confined to the Nintendo DS.

It appears that MercurySteam is making a strong effort to restore its former fame with Blade of Fire, and it seems to be moving in the right direction. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer, as the game will launch on May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Epic Games Store at a price point of $59.99.
