- Koraidon is a dual-type Fighting/Dragon Paradox Pokemon, with a futuristic variant in Miraidon.
- The Honda Koraidon will feature self-balancing tech and dynamic movements, showcased in an exhibit in Tokyo.
The most recent partnership for Pokemon has been disclosed, as Honda, a renowned vehicle manufacturer, joins forces with The Pokemon Company to develop a motorcycle called Koraidon, inspired by the legendary Pokemon. This unique real-world construction of the yet-to-be fully unveiled Pokemon is generating excitement among fans worldwide.
In the ninth series of Pokémon, Koraidon was introduced as a Legendary Paradox Pokémon that’s both Fighting and Dragon-type. It’s the cover character for the highly anticipated game Pokemon Scarlet. Many believe it’s an ancient cousin to another Gen 9 Pokémon named Cyclizar. Interestingly, Koraidon has a modern counterpart in Miraidon, which serves as the mascot for the companion game, Pokemon Violet. There was speculation about when shiny versions of Koraidon and Miraidon might be released in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but so far, their alternate forms haven’t made an appearance.
2025’s Pokemon Day unveiled a sneak peek of the “Honda Koraidon Project,” revealing close-ups of a bike inspired by the Pokemon world, with striking resemblance to the character from Pokemon Scarlet. Crafted by 40 engineers, the Koraidon bike will showcase the Honda Riding Assist technology, enabling it to assume a quadrupedal stance similar to its in-game behavior, known as Sprinting Build.
As per Honda’s official announcement, the Koraidon bike not only uses balancing technology to stand independently on two wheels, but its design also adapts dynamically based on the speed of its Sprinting Build mode. This adaptation includes changes in the bike’s hands, legs, neck, and facial expressions. Although not demonstrated in the video, the final version is expected to incorporate movements of the face, eyes, and eyelids as well.
The Honda Koraidon is set to be showcased at the Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo, Japan from March 7th to 9th. Although it’s undeniably remarkable, Honda isn’t the pioneer in developing a two-wheeled Pokemon-like vehicle; Toyota actually constructed a genuine Miraidon motorcycle last year.
Even More Pokemon Vehicles
Even though the recent Koraidon and Miraidon models are impressive, they aren’t the first vehicles inspired by Pokémon. In fact, a devoted fan noticed promotional cars for Pikachu and Lugia at a Pokémon convention years ago. These included a Pikachu-themed VW Beetle and a PT Cruiser styled after Lugia. With real-life versions of the Scarlet and Violet mascots now available, it’s exciting to imagine what other Pokémon-themed vehicles might emerge from future mainline Pokémon games.
