In Monster Hunter Wilds, chasing monsters offers an exciting adventure, and it’s a significant part of the game. But, watching these creatures coexist in their natural habitat is equally captivating. The ongoing dispute between Samin and Dareel over cataloging the unique creatures in the Forbidden Lands persists, and now Samin requests that you catch a Rime Beetle on his behalf. This task appears to be simpler this time around, so let’s embark on our journey once more to aid our fearless researcher.

How To Start Samin’s Research Report (Cont.)

Typically, Samin and Dareel can be found relaxing in the spacious tent at Base Camp situated within the Windward Plains. It’s amusing to note that they seem more occupied with socializing than conducting their research. Nonetheless, it provides an excellent opportunity for you to venture out and discover new territories yourself. As usual, the map will keep you updated when a fresh quest emerges from their tent.

To access this particular item, you need to have previously accomplished Dareel’s Continuation Research Report, a task that necessitates finishing the pair of Research Report missions in the earlier stages of the game. This mission won’t become available until you’re nearing the end of the storyline, so simply continue playing until it becomes accessible.

Where To Find A Rime Beetle

As a gamer, I must say, tracking down those charming Rime Beetles isn’t a chore at all. In fact, chances are you’ve already crossed paths with one or two. Unlike the usual creatures I’ve been tasked to catch before, these critters come equipped with useful items – their snowballs can be gathered as Slinger Ammo! That’s right, they’re marked on the map now, making them easier to spot in this frosty world.

Due to this, it’s just as straightforward as unfolding your map and sifting through your markers until you locate one. You can come across these markers scattered throughout the Iceshard Cliffs, but you’ll find a large number of them grouped together in Area 2. Once you’ve found one, simply grab it and take it to its new location in the Windward Plains.

If you’re keen on grabbing that snowball, go ahead and snatch it first, and then swiftly switch to the Capture Net to nab the Rime Beetle before it scurries off.

For now, Samin will be satisfied, though he and Dareel’s requests aren’t quite finished yet.
