After a long run, the much-anticipated series, Dragon Ball Daima, has come to an end. As it was the last Dragon Ball series that Akira Toriyama worked on, it held a unique significance for all its fans. And indeed, the ending seemed quite characteristic of Toriyama’s style. The final episodes began airing in Japan at 11:40 PM (local time), concluding well past midnight – remarkably, one year after Toriyama passed away. Whether this was a coincidence or not, it adds an extra layer of poignancy to Dragon Ball Daima.

In this episode, I found myself captivated by the stunning visuals it offered. It delivered unexpected twists that left the viewers in awe, and subtly hinted at the possibility of more stories unfolding. Contrary to what many anticipated, it wasn’t Goku or even Gogeta who emerged victorious against Gomah. To discover how the story concludes for Daima, keep reading!

The Final Battle Against King Gomah

When Gomah dons the Evil Third Eye, he gains access to his colossal Super Giant form’s abilities. As children, neither Goku nor Piccolo possess the strength to rival Gomah, even when Vegeta ascends to Super Saiyan 3 and Goku reaches Super Saiyan 4.

Upon Glorio’s request for Shenron to reverse them back into adults, exhaustion had set in, making it impossible to engage at full strength. As each of us took turns, it was now the time for Super Saiyan 3 Adult Vegeta to attempt to overcome Gomah. Yet, it became clear rather swiftly that his endurance wouldn’t hold up for long.

Dr. Arinsu instructs Majin Kuu to fetch a book containing details about the malevolent Third Eye. Upon reading, she discovers that it can be eliminated by striking its wielder thrice at the back of the neck. She passes this knowledge on to Goku and Piccolo. In response, Goku elects to engage in combat with Gomah to allow Piccolo time to strategize, planning to attack him from behind and strike him three times at the back of his neck.

During the climactic fight between Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Gohan, the visual spectacle is breathtaking. At a certain moment, Goku unleashes a massive Kamehameha wave, tearing a gigantic hole in Gohan’s abdomen. This action serves as an excellent diversion for Piccolo to attempt striking Gohan on the neck. Yet, after the second blow, it appears that Gohan manages to repel Piccolo and is on the verge of becoming even stronger.

Who Actually Defeated King Gomah?

In a thrilling turn of events, I managed to subdue Piccolo and surged forward, igniting quite the commotion in the Demon Realm! As chaos ensued, little did I know that Majin Kuu would find himself right on my heels, clutching the massive tome he had meant for Dr. Arinsu.

Currently, he makes use of the circumstances and swiftly lands three strikes on Gomah’s neck. Suddenly, The Evil Third Eye emerges from Gomah’s forehead, prompting the group to act quickly and restrain him before destroying the eye. This was merely an accident, Majin Kuu happening to be in the perfect position at the perfect time, demonstrating an unexpected act of heroism.

The New King of the Demon Realm

After Gomah’s downfall, Marba confines him along with Degesu within a jar. The Demon Realm is now without its ruler, but preparations are underway for a new one to take the throne. Once it becomes clear that Majin Kuu has vanquished the former king, he assumes the title of the New Supreme Demon King. Dr. Arinsu now serves as the Deputy Supreme Demon King, while Neva, Marba, Majin Duu, Glorio, and King Kadan are all assigned ministerial roles.

Neva extends an invitation for Dende to reside in the Demon Realm, but he politely refuses. However, he promises to share this information with roaming Nameks, allowing them to decide whether they want to move there. Meanwhile, it’s now the Dragon Team’s turn to return home.

What about Super Saiyan 4 in Daima?

During the show, Goku clarifies his SSJ4 transformation to a curious Vegeta (who refers to his own SSJ3 form as “Ultra Vegeta #1”). Goku explains that following the Buu Saga, he trained extensively because Buu was overpowering, yet wasn’t sure if it would be effective. Vegeta comments that it seems like a “Super Saiyan discount,” but there’s nothing to suggest why he hasn’t employed it in Dragon Ball Super.

Is A Dragon Ball Daima Sequel Coming?

On their way home from Earth, Goku requests Glorio to drop by the store from Episode 4 where they purchased Medi Bugs. In this store, they discover two additional versions of the Evil Third Eye up for sale, which could potentially lead to Season 2 or a fresh Daima series. However, no definitive updates have been made public yet.

You can currently stream “Dragon Ball Super” on both Crunchyroll and Hulu, as it’s being simulcasted. In the coming week, episode 20 will be available on platforms like Netflix and others.
