This article contains spoilers from the Naruto series.
Summary
- Naruto series has untapped potential for exciting content and can expand on Naruto’s journey.
- A prequel to Boruto focusing on Naruto and Sasuke would excite fans and explore Blank Period.
- The Blank Period is the perfect time for a prequel, showing Naruto and Sasuke at their peaks.
The Naruto series, encompassing both its anime and manga adaptations, remains enormously popular today, despite having concluded years ago. The Boruto spin-off series has further sustained interest in the story, even though it doesn’t quite match the original’s popularity. However, the consistent success of Boruto over eight years since its debut underscores the fact that the Naruto universe still holds significant untapped potential.
Indeed, beyond Boruto, it’s widely recognized among fans that this universe holds the promise of even more captivating content for viewers to savor. In fact, many Naruto enthusiasts would be thrilled if a prequel were to emerge, but whether or not that will materialize is uncertain. Nonetheless, there remains a great deal of untapped potential in the Naruto world, and it’s been suggested that Masashi Kishimoto should consider expanding it further, much like Dragon Ball has done since wrapping up its initial series.
The Naruto Series Still Has Potential
- The World Of Naruto Has Tons Of Potential
- Naruto Uzumaki’s Journey Can Still Be Expanded
As an observer, I can’t help but notice the immense potential that the Naruto franchise continues to hold. On a global scale, this tale has been one of the most sought-after stories, even surpassing One Piece’s popularity in the Western world at certain points, despite Naruto never achieving similar numbers in its native Japan. However, it’s essential to remember that Naruto stood toe-to-toe with One Piece, and this was before anime became as widely recognized as it is today. Sadly, Naruto concluded its serialization prior to the medium reaching its current level of popularity. Nevertheless, there’s no denying Naruto’s enduring appeal. This series has been a part of many fans’ lives, much like Dragon Ball, and it undoubtedly merits further exploration.
Persevering…that’s what makes us shinobi. — Naruto Uzumaki
In the realm of Naruto, there’s potential for both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha to embark on adventures, uncover secrets about their world, and allow Masashi Kishimoto to introduce new dangers and possibly intricate plots beyond what he presented in the initial Naruto series. This potential is amplified by the possibility of Kishimoto resuming manga drawing, but it doesn’t automatically guarantee his return to Naruto. It could very well be that he intends to create a different manga, given his previous experimentation with Samurai 8.

Masashi Kishimoto might be considering a new series, yet his immense affection for the universe he crafted in Naruto could lead him back to drawing it again. After exploring Samurai 8, he seems to have found inspiration to revisit Naruto. His latest Minato oneshot, based on a global popularity poll, was exceptional and served as a reminder of Kishimoto’s extraordinary storytelling abilities. Fans eagerly anticipate his return to Naruto or, at the very least, his oversight of the narrative, similar to how Dragon Ball Super functioned with Toriyama’s involvement.
A Series On Naruto And Sasuke Would Be Amazing To Follow
Boruto Is Fun, But It Isn’t Quite Naruto
While the world of Naruto holds much excitement, it seems the writers aren’t fully leveraging its potential due to the focus on the sequel, Boruto. Though Boruto offers an enjoyable experience for fans, it lacks the essence of Naruto and can never truly match up. The adventures of the Boruto characters pale in comparison to those of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, who are greatly missed by the fans. This is why many readers anticipate a prequel to the Boruto series, as it would undoubtedly be thrilling.
To me, he’s the closest bond I’ve ever had. — Naruto Uzumaki
The narrative could be similar to that of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, as was common in most episodes of the Naruto series. Fans would undoubtedly be thrilled to see these cherished characters on screen once more, and it would without a doubt bring them great pleasure.
It’s clear that the storylines of Naruto and Sasuke aren’t wrapped up just yet, as fans eagerly anticipate witnessing their continued escapades. Given that Boruto primarily revolves around Boruto Uzumaki and the upcoming generation, it seems unjust to abandon the main characters in favor of revisiting old ones. Consequently, a prequel to Boruto could provide an ideal platform for exploring the adventures of Naruto and Sasuke once more, perhaps even bringing back familiar faces like Sakura Haruno, Kakashi Hatake, Lee, Ino, Bee, Tenten, and others along the way.
The Blank Period Needs More Attention
The Story Could Be Set In This Era
Of course, many Naruto enthusiasts may be curious about when the ideal sequel for Naruto and the prequel for Boruto will take place. To clarify, this time period is known as the Blank Period. This spans from the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War up until the events depicted in the Boruto series, which totals more than a decade. This lengthy gap presents an excellent opportunity to develop a thrilling storyline centered around Naruto’s main characters, and fans would be ecstatic if such a tale were to unfold.
Viewing Naruto and Sasuke at their pinnacle, embarking on diverse missions across the globe while being revered as legends, promises an exceptionally thrilling experience. The adversaries they’ll face will be formidable in their own right, ensuring that the ensuing battles are truly awe-inspiring spectacles. Naruto may even replicate a feat similar to Daima’s recent accomplishments, making it one of the most widely acclaimed media pieces among fans in quite some time.
Absolutely, this is merely a suggestion. Whether it becomes reality or not largely depends on the creator of the Naruto series and their plans for the franchise’s future. Fans can only cross their fingers and hope that this transformation eventually materializes. When it does, we can anticipate that Naruto and Sasuke will receive the recognition their characters and fans have longed for. At the moment, there’s no official announcement, but we’re all wondering what Studio Pierrot has in store for us.
You can find Boruto chapters published by Viz Media. Fans can read it officially and at no cost on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps. Mark your calendars for February 20, 2025, as that’s when the next chapter, titled “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex” chapter 19, is due to be released.
