- Animators express unhappiness for One Punch Man Season 3 on Twitter.
- Production issues and lack of progress indicate upcoming season may disappoint.
- Producers’ mismanagement setting animators up for failure, leading to loss of motivation.
One Punch Man stands out as one of the world’s most acclaimed and cherished anime shows, with a significant part of its success owed to an exceptional debut season, released approximately ten years back.
Currently, the anime’s fanbase has significantly decreased, largely because of disappointing adaptations after the initial season. Unfortunately, the anticipation for season 3 of One Punch Man isn’t promising at this point.
Animators for One Punch Man Season 3 Are Unhappy
They Express Their Concerns on Twitter
The popularity of the One-Punch Man series hasn’t managed to maintain the peak it initially reached upon the debut of its first season. For instance, One-Punch Man Season 2 fell short of expectations, causing a significant number of fans to lose interest in the series.
As a die-hard fan, I must admit that my anticipation for Season 3 of One Punch Man was tinged with a touch of skepticism. However, as the days roll by, I find myself joining an ever-growing group of fans who are beginning to question the direction this new season seems to be taking.
One significant point is that the same studio produces Seasons 2 and 3, raising some concerns among fans. However, Atsushi Fujishiro, the JF Staff producer, attempted to ease these concerns by making this statement:
“It’s important to note that both Seasons 2 and 3 are being produced by the same studio. Some fans might have questions or doubts about this, but I wanted to address those concerns directly.
Things are moving smoothly as we gear up for our third season. Given its massive popularity and high demand, we’re determined to create a season that surpasses expectations and keeps fans satisfied.” (Atsushi Fujishiro)
Despite his claims, it seems that the upcoming season of One Punch Man may not live up to expectations. The recent release of a single-animator trailer implies that production for Season 3 has barely begun or hasn’t started at all. This means that in the remaining time before its release in about 7 months, the animators will likely be rushing to complete the season, resulting in a potential letdown. It’s important to note that this is not the animator’s fault, and it appears there are significant production problems at play. So far, there’s little indication that the season will be promising.

Animators for One Punch Man season 3 were posting on Twitter about their feelings for this season.
The first person expressed that they’re “losing steam,” while the second person admitted they might “show their limited artistic abilities.” Both phrases convey a sense of struggle or inadequacy in their respective areas.
If an animated series fails, regardless of who’s responsible, the internet can be quite vocal about it, and unfortunately, this ongoing criticism isn’t always pleasant to encounter.
Animators lack magical abilities, so without adequate time and resources, they struggle to create a high-quality anime season. Producers may be unwittingly setting animators up for disappointment, as it’s often the animators who take the brunt of criticism when quality drops occur – which is likely due to the demanding nature of their work under tight deadlines, and the fear of negative reactions from fans.
It seems that One Punch Man season 3 is scheduled for release in October this year. Given the circumstances, it appears rather improbable that things will turn around.
