Activision Teases ‘Verdansk Collection’ That’s Set to Drop on March 10

Heading to the Call of Duty merchandise shop will show you a pop-up advertising the ‘Verdansk Collection’, with the catchphrase “return to the battlefield”. Additionally, a timer counting down to March 10th is displayed, leading fans to speculate that the official announcement for the return of Verdansk might be made on that date.

There have been whispers for a while now that the legendary city of Verdansk will reappear on March 20, marking five years since its initial introduction with Call of Duty: Warzone’s global launch. It was TopMob who first broke the news about reviving Verdansk, the instantly recognizable map from the sensationally popular battle royale game.

It’s Coming

The Call of Duty store’s prompt features a nostalgic reference to Verdnask, displaying an iconic scene of a dam and a downed plane in a desolate winter landscape. This familiar image has been seen many times before, and on March 10, the complete ‘Verdansk Collection’ will be unveiled, with its contents remaining a mystery for now.

Enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting to return to Verdansk since its removal from the game in 2021. I’ve consistently argued that we don’t long for Verdansk itself, but rather the unique atmosphere we shared with our friends while playing it for the first time. The world was a vastly different landscape back then, burdened by the challenges of COVID-19, and Warzone provided an immaculate escape from those troubles.

Nevertheless, it’s not just smooth sailing; several accomplished creators have pointed out that the return of Verdansk alone won’t be enough, considering the current state of the game. It’s widely acknowledged that Warzone continues to grapple with issues related to performance, network instability, and cheating.

Let’s hope all that is resolved (big hope) by March 10 – and even more so by March 20.
