Haikyu!! Short Anime Announced

Revealed at the Next Step Haikyu!! Event

Fervent fans of Haikyu!! had been disheartened about a fresh anime season due to the announcement of the first movie, leading many to believe that future events would be depicted through movies instead. However, with the recent anniversary celebration of the series, there’s renewed optimism as the Haikyu!! franchise seems set for positive developments.

Initially, it was the news about the next movie that had fans buzzing with anticipation. However, what truly makes this announcement thrilling is the revelation that the story won’t be confined to just one long film anymore, implying that the series will have more room to unfold and develop.

Instead of anticipating solely the announcement of the next movie in the series, fans were taken aback by the unveiling of an anime spin-off for Haikyu!! This brief anime will deviate from the usual focus on the Karasuno team, instead concentrating on the highly esteemed Fukurodani and their rivals, Mujinazaka, as they face off in the Nationals.

Titled as “HAIKYU!!: The Realm of Giants“, a sneak peek at the upcoming events is now available for viewing, found in this link:

Not Much Is Known For Now

When people learn about a brief, unique anime, they often find it challenging to decipher its specific details, as it has not been extensively explained for the audience. However, viewers can formulate some educated assumptions.

“I’m Hinata Shoyo, from the concrete. I’m going to beat you, and go to nationals.” — Hinata

Instead of creating an extensive anime series, we might opt for a compact form such as Original Video Animations (OVAs), possibly just two or three episodes to encompass this particular match. It’s unlikely that there will be more than that. Although it won’t provide a great deal of content, it will still offer the equivalent of a short film, which isn’t disappointing considering other Karasuno matches in movie format are also covered within the same time frame.

At present, there’s no announced launch date for the upcoming short anime. Fans will simply need to stay patient and keep an eye out for any updates over the next few months.
