The character “Daredevil” returns to pick up where the initial series left off, which had previously aired on Netflix. Originally, Season One of “Daredevil: Reborn” was planned for 18 episodes, but the executive producers have since discussed any adjustments made to the original plan.

Fans of Marvel’s Daredevil had a blast watching the three seasons available on Netflix, each consisting of 13 episodes. When Marvel Studios shifted the series to Disney Plus after ending their deal with Netflix, they announced that the reboot, titled Daredevil: Born Again, would have more episodes – specifically, 18 per season. However, during San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was revealed that the first season of Born Again will only have nine episodes and the second will have eight, which is less than the original series per season.

In a chat with Collider, the executive producers of the series Daredevil: Born Again, Dario Scardapane and Sana Amanat, discussed the number of episodes for each season. They confirmed that the reboot will have fewer episodes and that Season Two will essentially pick up where Season One left off. As Amanat put it, “Consider them as part one and part two for both seasons.” Scardapane, who also wrote for the show, mentioned that while working on the first season, the second season was already a given, in essence.

Upon my arrival and outlining the content for the initial season, it was implicit that the subsequent season would follow. Essentially, they are mirror images of one another; a contrast you’ll notice as you progress.

Scardapane was cautious not to reveal too many details about the upcoming series, but hinted that the finale of Season One would provide hints for what’s to come in Season Two. He described it as a scene where many cards are laid out at the end of the last episode, with Season Two being like those cards coming into play aggressively and maybe even brutally. Regarding the future of the series beyond Season Two, Scardapane admitted that he’s unsure if the story concludes there. He believes the ending is yet to be determined.

Although it’s premature to definitively decide if Daredevil: Born Again will undeniably need another season following its initial two, it’s clear that there’s an abundance of narrative to explore. If viewer interest remains high, the series could potentially continue. Given the success of the first couple of seasons, it’s likely that fans would be eager for more. Typically, a series benefits from running between three and four seasons to fully flesh out characters, but given that this upcoming production is a continuation of the Netflix series, an extended run might not be essential.

However, Daredevil stands out as exceptional, making him one of the beloved characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the Netflix show was discontinued, fans were disheartened, as they felt it deserved a lasting presence within the MCU. Now, with its comeback, supporters are ecstatic and eager to see what’s next. As for whether additional seasons are necessary, that remains to be seen once Season Two has concluded.
