Once you’ve finished her earlier quest titled “Fishing: Life, In Microcosm,” she will assign this new quest to you. This prior assignment serves as a tutorial on fishing, so if you’ve already completed it, you should be familiar with the basics of fishing.

After chatting with Kanya and accepting your quest, head towards Area 8 located in the Scarlet Forest’s northeastern region instead.

Upon arrival, locate the waterfall and proceed to traverse it. It will lead you to a concealed, mysterious cave – the iconic waterfall cavern!

Head up to the most northern area of the cave for a promising fishing location. If fortune favors you, you might spot the radiant Goldenfish in the water there. The fish in question is said to be as golden as its title suggests, similar to the one shown in the provided image above.

In this game, if you don’t encounter a Goldenfish, you simply need to wait as time progresses naturally. However, certain quests may also alter the passage of time. If you have completed the main story and attained High Rank, you can take a rest at any camp to accelerate time, but this action requires spending some Guild Points.
