On their latest Assassin’s Creed Shadows blog update, Ubisoft has shared fresh details about the upcoming Hideout feature in the game.
In a nutshell, introduced earlier, The Hideout serves as the player’s primary hub where they can craft and design their ideal living space to suit their preferences.
The Hideout will be nestled within the Izumi Settsu province, enclosed by hills on all sides for safety. It’s rumored that this Hideout will span an acre, allowing players to personalize the land by adding structures, pavilions, pathways, shrubs, trees, ponds, rock formations covered in moss, native foliage, and various other Japanese aesthetic elements they encounter during their travels.
Dany emphasizes that players should personalize the Hideout to their own style. As you advance through the game, more customization options will become available, allowing your progression to be reflected in your choices. The building tools are user-friendly, enabling quick layout creation, yet offer enough complexity for a deep and time-consuming design experience.
In the Hideout, players will be able to create six main rooms, which are:

As a gamer, stepping into my new hideout for the first time, I find Tomiko’s Hiroma, the central hub, already standing tall. This building serves as the heart of our shared space, offering swift access to essential hideout functions. Though I can tweak its cosmetic appearance, the Hiroma remains firmly rooted in place, a constant beacon within our gaming sanctuary.
A crucial part of your hideout, the stables serve as a vital hub, enabling you to employ your scouts for covertly moving supplies into enemy fortifications during raids; this action rewards you with additional resources upon completion of a season.
The Forge serves as a crucial hub for enhancing your weapons and equipment, enabling them to reach higher tiers as you progress through levels. It also offers options to break down unnecessary armor and weapons into basic components, apply new attributes to existing items, and activate the transmogrification feature for personalizing your character’s appearance and weaponry, all conveniently located in the inventory section.
The term “Kakurega” refers to a feature that allows players to acquire and occupy safehouses spread across Japan. These safehouses expand the functionalities of Hideout into remote locations, providing quick travel points that are secure even outside enemy territories. Additionally, you can access regional contract boards from these safehouses. As discussed in our exploration article, Kakurega are beneficial for restocking your tools, recharging your scouts, or managing the allies for upcoming missions.
The Study enhances the limit of explorers and fine-tunes the exploration area when explorers find an objective on the World Map, thus streamlining investigations of objectives.
The Dojo serves as a training facility where you can enhance Naoe and Yasuke’s allies, allowing them to be summoned during battles. As they progress through the training, their ranks improve, and the strength of their individual abilities grows.
In addition, players can also create seven themed rooms which are:

Introducing a Tera (sanctuary) into your Hideout enhances the XP earned by players while exploring the game world, functioning essentially as a 10% bonus to their XP gain.
As an admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about these Shinto shrines scattered globally. They offer a unique opportunity for devotees like myself to make a wish and momentarily gain a minor enhancement – a divine gift known as a boon. Remarkably, the spiritual influence of these Jinja in our Hideout amplifies the effects of any boon obtained from Japanese shrines, making my gaming experience even more extraordinary.
The Nando, or dormitory-like space, simplifies the process of calling back scouts at a lower cost. This beneficial feature is applicable across all Kakurega hideaways.
The Zashiki serves not only as a unique feature, but also enhances the efficiency of nourishment (restoration of health) for both characters, Naoe and Yasuke.
This particular Tea Room enhances the effectiveness of food rations, a benefit that multiplies when combined with the Zashiki bonus.
Showcase area for players to exhibit their gathered armor collections and weaponry, offering a means to customize gear combinations, or as you might say, create combat setups.
Users can explore different rooms, each featuring unique designs, where they can display their acquired customizations like clothing, wall decorations, and other items.
Players have the additional flexibility to merge rooms for enhanced personalization, enabling them to design their ideal sanctuaries at leisure. The Hideout aspires to function as a secure space for players, serving as a canvas for their endless creativity over extended periods.
After being brought on board, allies will devote a substantial portion of their leisure time at the Hideout, engaging in work, relaxation, training, and other activities. By constructing additional rooms, the possibilities for what they can do there expand. Allies who prefer martial arts may opt to spend more time in the Dojo, while those with a liking for sake might prefer hanging out in the Zashiki. This is what the blog explains.
