How To Craft & Use The Luring Pod
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you’ll find yourself deeply immersed in numerous hunts, ranging from pursuing top-tier predators such as Rey Dau, all the way up to soaring wyverns like the infamous Rathalos.
However, a minor inconvenience that could arise during these expeditions is if other monsters from the area interrupt your party while you’re in the midst of your main hunt.
This could cause frustration, as while extra monsters may inflict damage on your target and potentially engage in territorial disputes given specific circumstances, combat can quickly turn into a disorganized mess, particularly when dealing with tight quarters or formidable foes.
Today’s tutorial will show you strategies for driving off those pesky creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds, allowing you to pursue your true quarry without interference.
Use Dung Pods & Large Dung Pods

To entice undesired monsters out of Monster Hunter Wilds, you will require a decoy and the latest addition as your tools.
Remember to put these items in your bag before starting the hunt, and later, select them from your inventory or the quick access menu to load them into your slinger.
Sometimes, Dung Pods may fail to affect specific monsters. In such situations, it’s usually wise to be patient and let the monster leave the area on its own, as they tend to retreat in most instances.

To put it simply, regular Dung Pods are typically employed for scaring off individual monsters, whereas large ones are designed to scatter an entire group of them simultaneously.
To optimally disperse the Large Pile of Droppings for effective herding separation, place it strategically in the central location on the ground where the herd usually gathers.
Primarily, you’ll employ the Large Dung Pods during combat against groups of creatures such as Doshaguma, Hirabami, or a horde of Yian Kut-Ku.
Use the Large Dung Pods when fighting in groups with monsters like Doshaguma, Hirabami, or Yian Kut-Ku.
When facing off against the Hirabami, it can be quite challenging to distinguish and fight them individually if you don’t focus on eliminating one as a primary target. If they swarm around you, it will be difficult to tell them apart and successfully engage in combat.
It’s tough to win against the Hirabami if you don’t pick one to attack first because they tend to group up and it gets confusing who is who during a fight.
How To Craft Dung Pods & Large Dung Pods
As a gamer, I craft Dung Pods here and there as I traverse different game regions. You won’t find a specific spot to farm them endlessly, but you’ll stumble upon them at various locations on the map while I’m out exploring during hunts or expeditions.
Additionally, you can find Rolled-up Dung produced by Dung Beetles almost everywhere, such as the Windward Plains. In simpler terms, these insects are quite common and create compact balls of dung that you might encounter in various locations, including the Windward Plains.

Simultaneously, creating Large Dung Pods necessitates both Dung and Nitroshrooms, which are abundant throughout the Scarlet Forest, as depicted in the image above.
It’s important to note that your inventory allows for a maximum of 5 Large Dung Pods at once. This isn’t a problem as these are items primarily useful in the Wilds, making frequent use unnecessary.
How To Craft & Use The Luring Pod

Lastly, let me point out a unique feature – these items can draw monsters towards your position instead of repelling them like regular Dung Pods do.
Here, they are most effective when you need lower-level creatures (Tier 1 or 2) to battle bigger ones, providing a temporary diversion or some space for maneuvering during your pursuit.
During your confrontation with Jin Dahaad, you’ll encounter some characters that I’ll guide you through. There’s also an extra mission if you wish, which involves attracting a group of Hirabami towards you while keeping Jin Dahaad focused on you.
If you’re tempted by the idea of an intense battle involving monsters, feel free to throw a baiting device at one of them nearby. This will trigger a brief, wild melee among the monsters.
Sometimes, it can be more advantageous to lead a monster towards a particular spot rather than chasing them away completely.
