The content of this article includes some small hints about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Everything mentioned happens prior to the wedding.
2025’s start has been characterized by challenges galore in the games I’ve been drawn to. This is largely due to my immersion in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, my current gaming obsession.
Doing Everything The Hard Way
In this game, tasks often take more time than anticipated. Filling up your hunger requires standing before a pot, dishing out single spoonfuls until satisfied. If another player wants to use the same pot simultaneously, patience is necessary as you’ll have to wait for them to finish before continuing with your leisurely stew consumption. Sharpening your sword calls for positioning yourself at the sharpening wheel, ready to spend several minutes carefully buffing it into a sharp enough state for beheading.
Regardless of the intricate mechanics found in Monster Hunter Wilds, sharpening your weapon with a whetstone is remarkably quick.
To provide a more detailed scenario, I’ve been tasked to attend the grand event, which is a wedding. However, before I can do so, Kreyzl the Miller has asked me to locate a skilled woman for hire. Her role would be to charm an influential man named the chamberlain, who will also be present at the celebration. The plan is that if Kreyzl receives an invitation, he could bring her as his companion, with Henry acting as her protector.
Reaching this stage is a sequence of quirky missions that require tracking down dark outfits, pilfering assorted objects for Kreyzl, assisting a gravedigger in transporting deceased animals to his cart, sampling the crusty white substance found on a mass burial site, and essentially performing lowly chores. These tasks aren’t a reflection of any criticism towards the game. Quite the contrary, I found these quests incredibly engaging and enjoyed every moment of them.
In the end, all those small tasks culminated in me procuring (or acquiring illegally) a dress for the woman to wear at the wedding. Mission accomplished, I obtained the dress and made my way back across the map to deliver it. She criticized my appearance, so I browsed through my inventory to find an outfit that matched her preferences of “looking good” and “not looking like armor.” Unfortunately, nothing seemed suitable, so I had to travel back across the map once more to purchase wedding attire from the same store where I’d bought her dress.
I couldn’t find the appropriate attire in the merchant’s inventory because it wasn’t labeled as a quest item, forcing me to purchase potential options. After selecting an ensemble, I had to ask the merchant if it was suitable for a wedding, and he would provide vague hints, indicating whether I was close or far from my target. Ultimately, I found the correct match and was prepared at last. This moment marked the thrilling conclusion of 25 hours spent playing, with most of that time dedicated to tedious tasks. Despite being part of well-crafted questlines, these chores were still tiresome.
Please Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Buff My Brain To A Shine

I’m really enjoying this game, and I think it might end up as my Game of the Year when everything is considered. Remarkably, it’s rekindled my interest in playing an Assassin’s Creed game again after years away. Imagine, if you will, how simple it would be to acquire those wedding clothes in Assassin’s Creed! You could just warp to the vendor, and the necessary items would be clearly marked on the menu. It would require no effort or thought at all.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve found myself deeply immersed in two new titles this year – Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector and Monster Hunter Wilds. These games share a common trait that’s keeping my brain on high gear – they’re both intricately detailed and challenging.
Citizen Sleeper 2 puts you in the shoes of a space traveler, struggling to survive amidst limited resources, constantly faced with tough decisions about whether to spend what little money I have on food or fuel. It’s like being stuck on a never-ending road trip with an empty gas tank!
Monster Hunter, while less intense than its predecessors, still requires a good deal of learning and mastery in terms of its combat systems. It’s a stark contrast to the mindless fun I sometimes crave – you know, scaling towers, ticking off map markers… something that lets me unwind without having to think too much!
It seems I may grow fonder of the three upcoming games than Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, playing multiple games that need my full attention is reminding me of the joy in playing a game without many demands. Assassin’s Creed series isn’t usually highly rated by critics at the end of the year, and only one title (2018’s Odyssey) has been nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards. These games don’t push the boundaries of what a game can be; instead, they offer exactly what you’d expect from a game.
Occasionally, it’s pleasant. Lobster is excellent, but there are moments when a McDouble is more appealing due to its convenience and ease of consumption. Similarly, as gaming continues to focus on challenging games that offer significant rewards – such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Assassin’s Creed remains relevant for those instances when you crave a less demanding experience.
