Next-Gen Xbox Console Release Planned For 2027

The upcoming generation of Xbox gaming systems is slated to hit the market in two years’ time, as per a recent report by Windows Central’s Jez Corden. It appears that Microsoft is aiming to launch their primary line of next-gen Xbox consoles in 2027.

Per the report, the new systems are in full production at Microsoft.

According to the reports, it appears that Microsoft’s upcoming console, which is expected to replace the Xbox Series X|S, has received approval from CEO Satya Nadella and his team at the highest level. (Corden)

It’s suggested that the upcoming plans for the next-gen Xbox may involve not only a high-end version, or “premium successor,” to the Xbox Series X, but also an in-house developed portable console. Additionally, there could be multiple new controller options in the pipeline as well.

According to Corden’s latest update, his previous assertions about the new Xbox consoles being more integrated with Windows than ever stand firm. These upcoming systems will maintain backward compatibility for playing classic games as well.

Besides the upcoming consoles, it’s rumored that Microsoft intends to release a portable gaming device, in collaboration with Xbox, by the end of 2025.

At present, Microsoft hasn’t made any official announcements regarding these plans. Keep in mind that details may shift before or after they are revealed. We’ve contacted Xbox for their perspective on these allegations. If we receive a reply, it will be included in this article.
