The horror game Phasmophobia has received a significant update, with fans now able to explore the extensively revamped Bleasdale Farmhouse. As is customary for this game, the recent update also addresses some technical issues, moving one step closer to the anticipated 1.0 release.
Originating from Kinetic Games, a British studio, Phasmophobia was debuted in Early Access back in 2020. In this intriguing game, teams of four band together to hunt ghosts, all while ensuring their own survival. The full release of the game was initially set for 2024, but as of now, there’s no confirmed launch date for version 1.0. Despite being in its early stages, Phasmophobia has gained immense popularity, selling more than 22 million copies and ranking among the top-selling games on the Xbox Store in 2024.
In this update, version 0.12.0.1 for the game Phasmophobia has arrived, significantly altering one of its oldest maps, the Bleasdale Farmhouse. The revamped farmhouse now boasts a new layout, updated visual elements, and various environmental features as per the patch notes. Notable changes include motion-activated exterior lights that can be triggered by both players and ghosts, an increase in ghost interactive objects, and multiple adjustable lights that can be controlled using switches. From what we gather, the map underwent a substantial overhaul, so players can anticipate fresh discoveries. Additionally, this update addresses several bugs, such as eliminating issues causing white blocks to appear on screen, fixing location glitches that trapped players, and more.
The latest upgrade to Phasmophobia follows closely after the February 2025 update. In this earlier version, enhancements like voice recognition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S users were introduced, along with bug fixes across various editions of the game.
2025 will see significant advancements in the game Phasmophobia, as hinted by the developers’ 2025 roadmap revealed last month. They have promised two major updates: a revamp of player characters and the introduction of Chronicle, which includes a Sound Recorder feature to enhance the gameplay experience. In addition, they announced seasonal events for Easter, Halloween, and the holiday season, as well as a new small map. The roadmap also hinted at future content, including reworks of older maps in 2026, more seasonal events, and the Horror 2.0 update, which is expected to mark the end of early access for this popular horror game.
