Blizzcon 2025 Not Happening; Event Returns in 2026

Blizzcon 2025 is cancelled, but it’s scheduled to come back in September 2026 after a break of two years.

Blizzard commented that it’s been a significant journey from our first event in 2005 up until now. Over almost two decades since its start, BlizzCon has sparked creativity and encouraged innovation within us, allowing us to create extraordinary experiences. We strive to make sure each event lives up to the expectations of our dedicated community.

The event scheduled is happening on September 12th and 13th, right here in Anaheim, California. Blizzard has announced that they’re already preparing for next year with exciting activities such as opening ceremonies, detailed discussions, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly contests, and opportunities to test out games hands-on.

As a passionate gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating a truly memorable event that Blizzard is striving to deliver. Their focus is on significantly enhancing this gathering, aiming to make it a unique and impactful experience for all of us participants.

They stated that they’re constructing this event in much the same way they create their games – with an unwavering dedication to the players, acknowledging the importance of your ties to our worlds, and as a jubilant expression of the power of friendships forged through mutual journeys.

For the past two years, Blizzcon has only taken place in two instances: a virtual-only edition in 2021 and a resumption of in-person gatherings in 2023. However, Blizzcon 2024 was called off in April 2024 without providing any specific reasons. At that time, the company stated that the decision wasn’t taken lightly and they intended to hold it again at some point in the future.
