- The release of a Sneak Peek clip instead of a trailer hints at an intense, spoiler-heavy finale on March 13th.
Instead of unveiling a season finale trailer, creators of Invincible have recently shared a brief fifty-two-second sneak peek prior to Episode 8 titled “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up”. In this episode, the protagonist Mark is preparing to confront one of the most ruthless characters found within the Invincible universe.
Fans of Invincible are still grappling with the shocking events of the penultimate episode, “What Have I Done?” The viewers were left in disbelief as a horde of interdimensional villains, led by Season 2’s antagonist Angstrom Levy, wreaked havoc across the globe. In a calculated move, Angstrom sought revenge and managed to tarnish the superhero’s reputation while causing widespread destruction in his personal life. With hundreds of thousands of lives lost worldwide, the carnage in Chicago seems almost insignificant by comparison. Understandably, Mark is struggling to cope and seeking an outlet for his anger.
Yesterday, the makers of Invincible shared on Twitter that fans will get a sneak peek at Invincible’s upcoming battle against Conquest, one of the Viltrum Empire’s fiercest generals. The video preview has been made public and can be viewed on YouTube now. Fans are getting an insight into the extreme cruelty and deep insanity that Invincible’s next major enemy will exhibit.
As a passionate filmgoer, I must share my excitement about the upcoming monologue from the formidable Conquest, who claims to be unlike any other Viltrumite Invincible has crossed paths with thus far. Fans of this captivating series have been speculating that Anissa, portrayed brilliantly by Shantel VanSanten, might reappear in the finale. Earlier comments from Cecil hint at a potential Viltrumite confrontation: “Could he beat that Viltrumite woman who made us all tremble three months ago?” Frankly, I can’t help but hope Anissa makes an appearance for this highly-anticipated showdown. Conquest himself admits that he surpasses the female Viltrumite, leaving me to wonder if Invincible might wish for her presence in this battle of titans.
The majority of Viltrum’s soldiers, including Mark’s father Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), adhere to a shared ideology. They are deeply ingrained with a nationalistic, expansionist, and pure-blooded mindset that aligns with their government. These soldiers often rebuke traitors like Nolan (Omni-Man), viewing their betrayal and preference for lesser beings as despicable. It seems that this act is viewed as equally treasonous as killing fellow Viltrumites, and breaking this sacred bond can lead to the guillotine.

Conquest operates on a different level compared to others. When speaking with Mark, he makes it clear that unlike other Viltrumites who might spend time discussing their plans for transforming this world into a utopia, Conquest doesn’t feel the need to make such introductions. This doesn’t mean he lacks loyalty; his dedication to the Viltrum Empire stretches across thousands of years and numerous conflicts. It’s just that he finds no purpose in informing lesser beings like Mark about his mission to expand the glory of the Viltrum Empire, or that resistance would be futile. He bypasses the same rhetoric we hear from Nolan and Anissa to get straight to the point. What Conquest truly seeks is a single objective:
“The truth is, I want you to resist.”
Conquest’s mission on Earth isn’t about providing warnings to Mark or preparing the planet for Viltrum’s arrival; instead, the general has come to inflict chaos and teach Invincible a difficult lesson. This ruthless antagonist will prove to be Mark’s most formidable challenge yet, as there is no possibility of negotiating with this merciless adversary.
“There is no greater pleasure than feeling the warmth of my fists drenched in blood.”
Mark isn’t feeling up for a chat, truth be told. The last episode ended with Invincible angrily declaring: “All I want to do now is punch something as hard as I can.” It looks like Conquest will soon get what he desires. However, he might discover that Invincible has more strength than meets the eye. The sneak peek concludes with Conquest receiving a blow to the face. He swiftly masks his shock under a clever comment: “Alright. That’s a start.” Yet, the intruder may find himself facing a battle that’s more challenging than he anticipated.
As a fan excited about the upcoming season of Invincible, I can’t help but share the creators’ enthusiasm. In their recent Twitter post, they mentioned that instead of a traditional trailer, they chose to release a Sneak Peek. The reason? They found it difficult to cut anything out because the content was “overflowing with insanity and spoilers.” This only serves to heighten my anticipation for what promises to be an explosive finale for season 3!
The finale of Invincible Season 3 is coming to Amazon Prime on March 13th.
