Gamers might recall the controversy surrounding “Postal 2” due to its graphic violence and depiction of stereotypes. Interestingly, this game is making a return and is being updated for use with virtual reality headsets.

Beef Studios, Running with Scissors, and Flat2VR Studios have joined forces to make the virtual reality version of Postal 2 a tangible project. According to the developers, Postal 2 VR will be available on PS VR2, Meta Quest 2 and 3, as well as Steam VR. Fans can add the game to their Steam Wishlist, but a release date has yet to be announced. The announcement trailer for Postal 2 VR showcases players returning to the role of the Postal Dude, who must complete a week’s worth of chores in the town of Paradise, Arizona. Players can choose whether they want to peacefully finish their tasks or cause mayhem throughout the town. As stated by Wes Dillon, Flat2VR’s marketing and PR specialist, the game has been thoroughly revamped for VR, featuring manual reloading, dual-wielding, physics-driven melee combat, an upgraded inventory and user interface, among other improvements. “Postal 2 VR is a chaotic, offensive, and endlessly entertaining unhinged VR playground unlike any other,” said Dillon. Although Postal 2 VR marks a significant leap for the franchise, the original Postal 2 has remained relevant among fans. In 2023, Postal 2 received an update to celebrate its twentieth anniversary, demonstrating the developers’ dedication to the game.
