Once you’ve opened the Earth Seal within the “Fields of Mistria” and advanced to level 60 within the Mines via Deep Earth, you are now ready to access the following Mines biome: the Lava Caves. However, acquiring everything necessary to open the Fire Seal in “Fields of Mistria” can be challenging due to an abundance of materials needed, one of which is a rare item known as a Faceted Rock Gem.
To successfully access the Fire Seal, you’ll essentially be embarking on two missions, namely ‘Unsealing the Fire Seal’ and ‘Obtaining the Sealing Scroll.’ Each mission will demand your diligence in locating numerous necessary items. This laborious task, however, is not without its rewards; you’ll earn some fantastic prizes associated with the Fire Seal quest line, including the privilege to explore additional regions on the map, as well as gaining entry to the Lava Caves.
How to Start Breaking the Fire Seal Quest in Fields of Mistria (The Fire Tablet)
To discover what items are required to open the Fire Seal in “Fields of Mistria”, you should first finish a story quest named “The Fire Tablet”. This quest becomes accessible once you reach level 60 within the Mines, following the unlocking of both the Water and Earth Seals. To initiate “The Fire Tablet” quest in “Fields of Mistria”, navigate to level 60 of the Mines, which will then trigger a scene featuring the game’s Priestess. During this cutscene, you will also receive the Fire Tablet Rubbing. After speaking with Juniper to complete “The Fire Tablet” quest, it will automatically unlock both the ‘Breaking the Fire Seal’ and ‘Procuring the Sealing Scroll’ story quests.
How to Unlock the Fire Seal in Fields of Mistria (Breaking the Fire Seal and Procuring the Sealing Scroll)
In order to open the Fire Seal in the mystical Fields of Mistria, you must finish two main story quests: “Cracking the Fire Seal” and “Acquiring the Scroll of Sealing”. These quests require you to collect specific items as sacrifices to shatter the seal.
- x1 Faceted Rock Gem
- x1 Rockroot
- x1 Emerald
- x1 Sealing Scroll
As a passionate adventurer, I’ve discovered that the Mines are a treasure trove for Faceted Rock Gems, Rockroots, and Emeralds. However, acquiring the Sealing Scroll isn’t just a matter of digging around; it’s part of the ‘Procuring the Sealing Scroll’ quest, as you’ll find detailed below.
Faceted Rock Gem Location in Fields of Mistria

In the realm of Mistria’s Fields, you can discover Faceted Rock Gems by excavating designated spots within the Deep Mines biome, which spans levels 41-59. These dig spots might appear as circular bumps or scratch marks on the ground. The Faceted Rock Gem is an uncommon, green-silver, crystal-like artifact in Mistria’s Fields, and locating it may require multiple trips to the mines due to its scarcity.
We uncovered the Faceted Rock Gem on the 58th level of the Underground Mines, disguised as an Enigmatic Artifact within a round excavation site marked by a bump. Keep in mind, it could pop up at a different location for you in the Deep Mines. Thankfully, just one Faceted Rock Gem is required to present to the Fire Seal.
Rockroot Location in Fields of Mistria

Additionally, you should search for a plant called Rockroot, a versatile item that resembles a claw and can be found scattered across the ground in levels forty-one to fifty-nine within the Mines.
It’s intriguing that the game description for Rockroot suggests it’s challenging to distinguish whether Rockroot is actually part of a plant or simply looks like one. When you come across multiple Rockroots during your exploration, you have the option to sell them for 20 Tesserae each.
Emerald Location in Fields of Mistria

As a devoted enthusiast, I can share with you a strategy to acquire Emeralds in the captivating world of Mistria’s Fields. You can mine these precious green stones from Emerald rock nodes nestled within the depths of the Mines, specifically levels 41-59. Since Emerald is known for its radiant green color, you shouldn’t find it too challenging to identify. Interestingly, Emeralds may appear not only as individual nodes but also as clusters or chunks, providing multiple opportunities to spot them during your mining adventure.
How to Get the Sealing Scroll in Fields of Mistria (Procuring the Sealing Scroll)
To finish off, you’ll require the Sealing Scroll to unseal the Fire Seal within the realm of Mistria, which is an independent storyline quest named ‘Obtaining the Sealing Scroll.’ A short while following your previous encounter with Juniper and Balor, you’ll find a letter from Balor in your mailbox. When it suits you, head to his room as requested in the letter.
You’ll locate Balor’s chamber on the uppermost floor, to the left of the Sleeping Dragon Inn, as shown in the image above. Upon entering Balor’s room, a scene unfolds where he shares that he has information about the Sealing Scroll vendor. This individual is interested in trading for specific items as mentioned below:
The top floor, left of the Sleeping Dragon Inn houses Balor’s chamber, as shown in the picture above. Once you enter this room, a scene unfolds with Balor revealing he knows where to find the Sealing Scroll seller. This person wants certain items in return, as detailed below:
Procuring the Sealing Scroll Quest Item | How to Get/Where to Find |
x10 Rubies | Found by mining ruby rock nodes and ruby chunks with your pickaxe in levels 1-20 of the Mines (Upper Mines). It’s also possible to get rubies from inside chests while exploring the Upper Mines. |
x10 Sapphires | Found by mining sapphire rock nodes and sapphire chunks in levels 21-39 of the Mines (Tide Caverns). You can also find sapphire inside silver chests in the Tide Caverns. |
x10 Emeralds | Found by mining Emerald rock nodes and emerald chunks in levels 41-59 of the Mines (Deep Earth). |
x10 Silver Ingot | Found by mining Silver Ore from Silver Ore nodes in levels 41-59 of the Mines (Deep Earth), with 10 Silver Ore required to craft x1 Silver Ingot at the Blacksmith’s workbench. |
Following your contribution to the donation box labeled as ‘Balor’s Donation Box’, located near Balor’s Wagon, engage in conversation with Balor by saying, “Hello Balor”. He responds that he will visit you tomorrow following his discussions with the seller, as depicted above. Completing the quest for Balor grants you 20 Renown points.
Upon exiting your house the next day, a short scene unfolds where Balor presents you with the Sealing Scroll. You can now incorporate this scroll into the offerings at the Fire Seal. Interestingly, he cautions you not to open the Scroll prematurely.
Fire Seal Rewards in Fields of Mistria
After gathering all necessary items to unlock the Fire Seal, place them on the Fire Tablet as a sacrifice to initiate a captivating scene with surprising outcomes. This action not only provides access to the Lava Caves (located in Fields of Mistria, levels 61-80), but it also unveils the Dragon’s Breath spell which can be employed against adversaries and opens up areas on the map previously out of reach. Additionally, you receive a Heart Crystal that boosts your Health Points by an impressive 999 points.
To access the Deep Woods region on your map, it’s essential to finish the ‘Breaking the Fire Seal’ mission. This is because, upon completion, you will acquire the ability to utilize the Dragon’s Breath Spell, which can help you traverse to the Deep Woods.
