Information about an upcoming expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, Heat Wave Arena, has been leaked. This Japanese subset is set to be released on March 14, marking the ninth part of the Scarlet and Violet era. The booster box will contain a total of 30 packs showcasing characters such as Cynthia and Garchomp, Ethan and Ho-Oh, and Arven and Mabosstiff.

Earlier leaks of the Pokemon Trading Card Game unveiled some of its future cards, featuring stunning artwork centering around Cynthia, a cherished character from the franchise, along with her Pokemon. Subsequently, cards from the new expansion were exposed, boasting impressive additions like the evolution line of Cyndaquil, Garchomp ex, and Mabostiff. Now, another leak for the Pokemon Trading Card Game offers further insights into what fans can anticipate in the upcoming expansion.

PokeBeach recently disclosed a sneak peek showing all 29 hidden cards coming up in the Heat Wave Arena. The revelation aligns with earlier leaks, confirming that Cynthia’s Roserade full art card is included, along with several other full art cards of popular Pokémon like Rotom and Shaymin. Notably, the leak also hints at multiple trainer cards with their respective Pokémon, such as Ethan’s Typhlosion and Ho-Oh, Ethan’s Mabosstiff and Greedent, and a striking gold edition of Cynthia’s Garchomp ex.

Starting this week, Heat Wave Arena will be available in Japan, but Pokémon TCG fans in the west must wait a bit longer. The anticipated Destined Rivals set, releasing on May 30th, is where these new cards belong. This marks the tenth significant expansion of Gen 9. In addition to the Heat Wave Arena cards, it will also incorporate those from the Glory of the Rocket Gang expansion and the Starter Sets Marnie’s Morpeko & Grimmsnarl ex and Steven’s Beldum & Metagross ex. With these additions, the expansion will encompass a total of 182 cards (excluding Secret ones).

For now, enthusiasts can anticipate a fresh batch of cards arriving soon. On March 28, the ninth English expansion for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet cycle, called “Journey Together,” will be unveiled. This collection includes over 180 cards that players can gather. Notably, this set features the comeback of Trainer cards, concentrating on the pocket monsters belonging to N, Iono, Lillie, and Hop. This is the first time since EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua that the Trainer mechanic has been incorporated into the Pokemon Trading Card Game.
