The Anime Film Will Bring The Incredible Time Loop Story To Life

STUDIO 4°C Is The Animation Studio Working On The Project

All You Need Is Kill takes you on an extraterrestrial journey where our protagonist, Keiji Kiriya, has to fight in a war against a deadly alien race. Keiji is just like any other soldier fighting the war, but he somehow gets stuck in a time loop after dying on the battlefield. This cycle of “Death and Rebirth” allows Keiji to become a better fighter by learning from his previous mistakes. Keiji goes on to live on the same day multiple times but is unable to get past the ultimate barrier, no matter how many times he tries.

Luckily, Keiji encounters Rita Vrataski, a tough-as-nails female soldier who had previously faced the same phenomenon. Together, they join forces to discover how to defeat this enigmatic alien species and prevent Keiji from suffering the same fate as Rita regarding rebirth.

This tale appears to have a distinctive quality that could make it an exceptional anime adaptation. It seems that Studio 4°C is well-suited for bringing the animation to life, given their past successes in award-winning films such as “Tekkon Kinkreet” and “Mind Game.” Notably, Kenichiro Akimoto, who has worked on projects like “Children of the Sea” and “Harmony,” will be directing this upcoming anime film.

The Award-Winning Sci-Fi Story Already Has A Live-Action Adaptation

Edge of Tomorrow Was Based On Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s Light Novel

Many science fiction enthusiasts are familiar with the title “Edge of Tomorrow“, a Hollywood film featuring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. This live-action production was financially successful, though it received some minor criticism. However, even those who’ve seen the movie may not realize that the concept of ‘Edge of Tomorrow‘ originated from Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s light novel. The live-action movie did take some creative liberties, but fundamentally, the plot remained quite similar. The story translated well into a live-action format, and it could potentially work equally as well, if not better, in an anime adaptation.

It’s intriguing to note that the movie “Edge of Tomorrow” came out in the same year as the manga adaptation of “All You Need Is Kill.” This manga was penned by Ryosuke Takeuchi, who’s known for “Moriarty the Patriot,” and Takeshi Obata, renowned for his work on “Death Note,” handled the illustrations. Frankly, it’s quite surprising that an anime adaptation of “All You Need Is Kill” didn’t come sooner. Nevertheless, better late than never! We’re eagerly anticipating the visual extravaganza that the upcoming “All You Need Is Kill” anime will bring once it’s released globally. However, Warner Bros. Japan hasn’t disclosed any details about the film’s release schedule or cast as of yet.
