God of War Ragnarok 20th Anniversary Update Brings Kratos Back To His Roots

Although there won’t be a new version or updated take on Kratos’ Greek journey in God of War, Santa Monica Studio is offering a nostalgic outfit for Kratos as part of the game’s 20th Anniversary update for PlayStation systems and personal computers.

As a seasoned gamer, I’ve got some exciting news! The latest update is adding cosmetic items reminiscent of the skin from God of War 2, a reward I earned by conquering the game on its toughest setting – God Mode. Can’t wait to show off this throwback in my next gaming session!

Freya and Atreus will also be getting new items as well.

With the “Edit Appearance” feature, players can personalize the look of these items according to their preferences, ensuring that aesthetic choices do not affect functionality.

Don’t expect any new game announcements on March 20, though we’d love to be wrong.

There hasn’t been any news yet about what’s in store for the franchise, since Santa Monica Studio hasn’t shared any details on whether we can expect more of Kratos, if they plan a fresh start for the series, or if they’re taking a break from it temporarily.

If you haven’t played God of War Ragnarok yet, I recommend starting with the 2018 reboot of God of War first. After completing that, I suggest diving into Ragnarok – it’s definitely worth your time. To date, God of War Ragnarok has received an impressive rating on Open Critic and boasts a critic average of 92, which is quite golden.
