This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.

Summary

  • Dragon declared war on the Celestial Dragons, officially starting the biggest war in the New World.
  • The Revolutionary Army siege around Marijoa has cut off food supplies, pressuring the Celestial Dragons.
  • Shamrock and Holy Knights will soon counterattack the Revolutionary Army, initiating the massive war.

The popular series “One Piece” is presently in its Final Saga, which is the section of the narrative that Eiichiro Oda has been eagerly anticipating concluding. In fact, it’s the part of the story that Oda has expressed a strong desire to illustrate himself. For over two decades, Oda has yearned to depict the final saga of “One Piece”, but reaching this stage required great effort if he was to maintain a consistently captivating plotline.

Now, we’ve reached the grand finale, and this is where the major players are expected to take significant actions, leading to large-scale conflicts. Much like how fans witnessed the epic Paramount War prior to the story’s timeskip, we’re now on the brink of the most monumental conflict in the New World yet. Given the current situation, it seems likely that Oda will focus more on this impending war soon.

The Biggest War In The New World So Far Launched By Monkey D. Dragon

  • Dragon Declared War On The Celestial Dragons
  • The War Has Already Begun

In the final chapter of One Piece, Monkey D. Dragon, the head honcho of the Revolutionary Army, has been a highly anticipated character for years. His significance in the story is evident as Oda introduced him early on and strategically saved him for the climactic Final Saga. With One Piece now in its final act, it’s time for Dragon to make his grand entrance, given that he feels his preparations are finally complete.

Don’t forget the true goal, Dragon. Even within the Navy, there are good people — Vegapunk

In case you’re unfamiliar, Dragon intends to dethrone the Celestial Dragons in the One Piece universe by assembling a force equivalent to the World Government’s military might. He has built this formidable force known as the Revolutionary Army, which boasts some extremely powerful individuals. Using this army, Dragon has officially initiated war against the World Government, signaling his intent by dispatching a few of his soldiers to the Holy Land, Marijoa. There, they announced the greatest conflict in the New World. For those who might have forgotten, Dragon dispatched Sabo, Morley, Karasu, and Lindbergh to the Holy Land with three objectives, all of which were accomplished successfully. Their tasks included freeing all slaves, rescuing Kuma, destroying the Granaries and food supply, and obliterating the symbol of the Celestial Dragons, the hoof of the dragon, thereby formally declaring war.

Oda’s previous tasks are complete, indicating that he will soon direct his attention towards this war. Moreover, since then, the Revolutionary Army has kept up a steady assault on the Holy Land by surrounding it with a strong blockade. Any food supply ships attempting to reach the Red Line to deliver supplies to the government have been destroyed by members of the Revolutionary Army, causing near-starvation among the Celestial Dragons due to this constant pressure.

Shamrock’s Return To Marijoa And The Counterattack Of The Celestial Dragons

In Chapter 1140 of One Piece, fans learned that the situation in the Holy Land of Marijoa is grim. The Celestial Dragons appear to be suffering from starvation, with no immediate action being taken to alleviate their condition. However, it’s only a matter of time before the government takes action. Dragon himself is on edge, eagerly awaiting the response of the World Government and anticipating that they will deploy the Holy Knights in retaliation. As per Dragon, when the Holy Knights move, that’s when the true war will commence. In recent events, the Holy Knights have been playing the role of the primary adversaries in Elbaf, and this arc seems poised to showcase their full potential as combatants.

One driving force behind my continuous efforts in drawing One Piece is my ambition to illustrate the grand finale. The final chapter promises an extraordinary experience that eclipses the excitement of the Marineford arc in comparison. To me, the Marineford arc was merely a brief detour. This quote comes from Oda in 2012.

Or:

My motivation for persisting with One Piece is to bring the series’ final act to life. The climactic finale will surpass the thrill of the Marineford arc, making it seem like a minor side story. To me, the Marineford arc was just a brief interlude. This sentiment was expressed by Oda in 2012.

In Elbaf, three knights – Sommers, Gunko, and Killingham – are currently in action. However, it’s likely that other knights, such as Shamrock Figarland, the son of Garling Figarland, will play significant roles in this storyline. As we learned earlier, Shamrock was called back to Marijoa due to the ongoing situation, implying he needs to return promptly and undertake a mission.

The forthcoming endeavor by Shamrock Figarland signals impending conflict for the Revolutionary Army. He is headed back to Marijoa and ready to engage in battle against Monkey D. Dragon’s troops who have fortified themselves around the Red Port. His objective is to lift this siege, driving them away, thus enabling vessels to navigate through. Essentially, Shamrock is gearing up to display his abilities.

The Massive War Is Finally Underway

Shamrock and the Holy Knights Will Fight The Revolutionary Army

Fans may be curious if Oda will bypass this battle altogether, but it’s unlikely. The return of Shamrock probably indicates a perspective for fans to follow, suggesting he’ll play a significant role in the upcoming parts of the story. For those who need a refresh, the Final Saga is not only about the Straw Hat Pirates, as confirmed by Oda himself. Instead, it will delve into the journeys of all major characters in the One Piece world, not just the Straw Hats, which is worth highlighting here.

In my own words, as if observing the creator in 1999: The artist has made up his mind about the concluding chapter and the ultimate panel of this grand saga. Instead of just centering on the Straw Hats, he plans to delve into global events that will unfold alongside their adventures. However, it remains unclear when the final act will commence.

According to Oda himself, it seems that we will be shifting our attention from the Straw Hats for a brief period, as the narrative delves into the ongoing conflict in Marijoa. It’s important to note that this war has already commenced. Dragon initiated the violence, and now Shamrock, who has left the country, is gearing up to retaliate.

It’s high time for Oda, the creator, to unveil more characters from the Holy Knights and demonstrate their abilities to the audience, revealing how they will influence the ongoing war in the One Piece world as the Straw Hat Pirates sail towards Elbaf on their destined voyage.

In my experience as a keen reader, I’ve discovered that one captivating series, “One Piece,” can be accessed through Viz Media. As an authorized fan, you can enjoy this thrilling adventure for free on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus apps. Notably, the next chapter in this epic tale, One Piece Chapter 1143, is scheduled to debut on March 23, 2025.
