Secret Cake Achievement Guide: Split Fiction

Split Fiction is a co-op action-adventure game that blends elements of teamwork and exploration in a highly-exciting platform style. Controlling the duo of Zoe and Mio, Split Fiction players can take advantage of their abilities and powers to explore each stage, unlock hidden areas, and engage in intense battles with the many surrounding enemies and obstacles.

Achievements are always a bonus for players that strive for that extra challenge, but not all Split Fiction achievements are easy to tackle. Some provide extra difficulty, while others bring sheer joy to Split Fiction players. The Cake Is Not A Lie is one of those achievements that blends fun with challenge, and is a unique side quest to take on and complete.

It’s Time To Blow Out The Candle

In Chapter 4-8: Final Dawn – Run and Gun, players will be tasked with guiding Zoe and Mio through a multi-level stage that involves portals, destructible objects, and a couple of enemies protected by forcefields. Having knowledge of when and where these enemies appear, and how to navigate the surrounding sections, is key to reaching the destination and unlocking this achievement.

For this achievement, there will be a secret wall to locate and go through. After getting past the purple portal section, jump into a portal to bring you to the right side. Next, jump onto the wall ahead and then once more to access the secret area on top of the boxes with the cake.

Focus On Color-Oriented Objects For Quick Movement

The road to this achievement begins with some simple, co-op play that focuses on Zoe and Mio targeting objects by their assigned color. Not only is it crucial to get this right, but doing so in a timely manner could be the difference between success and failure. The first set of obstacles involves acid-carrying spheres that will need to be taken down before the player can move on to the next stage.

In the two sections following this portion of the map, players will need to fire their weapons at color-specific cogs that spin backwards upon being hit. These objects will unwind if enough time passes, so making sure to hit them often and quickly before moving on is pivotal. Failure to do so puts Zoe and Mio in danger of the swinging bridge.

Return Fire On Pesky Machines

While the road to completing this achievement is pretty straightforward in terms of the direction players need to go, it doesn’t mean it’ll be easy. In fact, there are two sets of enemies during this achievement hunt that will test the player’s patience and strategy. Luckily, there aren’t many swarms to get through, and experienced players may be able to get through the artillery coming their way.

Unfortunately, players will need to be aware of the forcefields being used by the two rapid-fire weapons. Disarming the forcefield first is essential, as Zoe and Mio’s weapons will not make any contact until then. Once the shield is down, players will need to time their shots right, as jumping and hovering around the ledge is necessary to hit the weapons. Stay at a distance to minimize the possibility of being hit.

Purple Portals Will Lead You In Many Directions

After getting past the many obstacles and field enemies, the hardest part of this adventure is over. Now, it’s time to jump through some purple portals and follow the direction of each landing spot. Jumping into a portal will warp Zoe and Mio to the next portal, making movement to each level feel easy at first glance. The only thing to take into consideration is knowing which portal leads to a dead end.

The final portal spot will have Zoe and Mio jumping into the portal that will bring them back to the last one used. Once this is done, simply let Zoe and Mio jump back into the same portal. This is needed to get the necessary height to reach the platform, which happens to be the end of the road. Upon discovering the lit candle next to two portals, the player will unlock the The Cake Is Not A Lie achievement, bringing an end to the journey.
