Prior to the launch of “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” on PC, Naughty Dog had announced several enhancements coming to the game’s No Return mode. No Return is a roguelike survival mode unique to “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered,” where players are tasked with overcoming various challenges within the sequel’s memorable settings across four challenge types: Assault, Capture, Holdout, and Hunted.

2020 saw me getting my hands on The Last of Us Part 2, a gripping continuation that unfolded four years after the original game released in 2013. April is proving to be an exciting month for fellow TLOU enthusiasts, promising to make 2025 one for the books. Not only will the PC release of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered hit stores on April 3, but HBO’s live-action series, featuring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, is set to air its second season, offering an enticing adaptation of The Last of Us Part 2.

Naughty Dog unveiled in a blog post that along with the PC specifications for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, they detailed the additional content arriving for No Man’s Return mode. Four new playable maps will be introduced: Overlook, the Seraphites compound, School where Ellie and Dina battle the W.L.F., Streets showcasing the Seattle neighborhood of Hillcrest, and Nest, depicting the infected-overrun building that Abby navigates. Furthermore, two new characters are being incorporated into No Man’s Return mode: Bill with a Smuggler playstyle, and Marlene’s Risk-Taker playstyle. Fortuitously, PlayStation 5 users will also receive this new content, along with fresh Trophies and bug fixes, via a free update on the same day as the PC launch.

In the enhanced version of “The Last of Us Part 2,” characters Bill and Marlene have been added to the roster of standout characters in the No Return mode, each bringing their unique abilities to the table. Players controlling Bill will find a custom pump shotgun at certain locations, which grants double rewards from loot drops and enhances his resilience against melee attacks. Unfortunately, Bill can’t dodge. In contrast, Marlene equips a Custom Assault Rifle, utilizes “All or Nothing” strategies, and has the ability to alter her No Return path during a single run once.

As PC enthusiasts immerse themselves in the updated content of “Part 2 Remastered,” fans of “The Last of Us” eagerly anticipate season 2 of its HBO adaptation. This new season, like the game, leaps forward in time and delves into the narrative of Part 2. Notably, “The Last of Us” season 2 will incorporate the iconic Stalkers from the game, a group of infected enemies, which undoubtedly adds an extra layer of peril to the show.
