Among the numerous useful items in Atomfall, the Metal Detector stands out as one of the most valuable. While it may seem straightforward, the benefits of mastering its use are quite rewarding. We’d like to guide you on how to acquire a Metal Detector for your collection.
At some point in their lives, most people haven’t gone without using a Metal Detector. Using a Metal Detector as a child is much like being in a candy shop for the first time—there’s no actual candy, but the excitement and mystery are still there. In the game Atomfall, a classic Metal Detector is incorporated into the gameplay, and though it might seem like an insignificant addition, it proves to be quite useful.
Hey there fellow gamer! If you’ve been roaming about and haven’t stumbled upon this secret spot just yet, let me share with you an unmissable location. It’s not too tricky to track down!
Where to Find a Metal Detector in Atomfall
I found a Metal Detector at the coordinates 29.1E and 73.9N in the Slatten Dale biome in Atomfall.
Starting off, you find yourself in Slatten Dale – a great starting point! However, it’s tucked away in a less conspicuous region on your map, so it might be easy to overlook. To help you locate it, use the initial map snapshot provided as a guide.
As a gamer, I’d head to the designated spot, keeping an eye out for any trouble-making Outlaws en route. Once there, I’ve learned the hard way to tread carefully near the water. It’s swarming with vicious fish that love nothing more than taking a bite out of you, inflicting the Bleed effect, and draining my valuable health supplies.
In the screenshot provided, you’ll notice that I moved along the water’s edge and took precise jumps at regular intervals. Eventually, upon reaching the specified coordinates, you’d find an Outlaw lying motionless on the ground. As for the second screenshot, it clearly shows a Metal Detector in the image.
You can either grab the supplies from the Outlaw directly or wait for the Metal Detector to appear since it’s automatically stored in your Tools inventory, sparing you the hassle of finding a spot for it.
How to Use The Metal Detector in Atomfall
A message pops up at the bottom left, hinting that you can use your Metal Detector to unearth a hidden stash in Atomfall.
Here’s a quick guide to the basics of using a Metal Detector:
- Explore Atomfall’s biomes and search every square inch of the map.
- Now and again, a Metal Detector symbol appears in the corner of your screen.
- Press the specified button to equip the device—or you can also select it manually from the inventory.
- Use L2 or LT (or your chosen keybind on PC) to trigger the Metal Detector.
- You should see five red lights on the device—these indicate the direction of a stash, not proximity.
- Keep moving in the direction that keeps the middle of the red lights active.
- Eventually, all five lights start beeping and buzzing.
- When this happens, press R2, RT (or the PC keybind) to start digging away at the floor.
- If you’ve done this correctly, you dig up a hidden stash.
Stashes are treasure troves filled with various supplies, ranging from crafting materials to ammunition. I usually don’t find the search process time-consuming, and I make sure to check them out whenever the Metal Detect icon pops up.
Here it is, instructions for obtaining a metal detector. Don’t forget to explore the Atomfall Trophy and Achievement List. If you’d like to share your thoughts on the overall game experience, feel free to leave a comment.
