Twitch Star Banned for Shocking Viewbotting Secret

Summary

  • Twitch streamer QueenGloriaRP was banned for revealing viewbotting software accidentally on stream.
  • Gloria denied viewbotting claims, but many weren’t convinced.
  • Gloria is still streaming on Kick

Streamer QueenGloriaRP, often known as Gloria, faced a ban following an unintentional disclosure of viewbotting software during a live stream. Viewbotting, a contentious practice, involves the artificial inflation of view counts on streams, a topic that has sparked debates among Twitch and Kick creators.

On March 18th, Gloria was chatting with her Twitch audience and typing on her keyboard when she unintentionally switched windows to reveal a viewbotting program running on her stream, offering options to boost the number of viewers and duration. She didn’t immediately notice this and left the window open for a few seconds before realizing the mistake. Her surprise was evident, and she briefly went offline, mentioning that she needed to pause streaming due to an issue with OBS (Open Broadcaster Software).

Following the spread of the video across social platforms, Gloria asserted on her now-private Twitter that she hadn’t been manipulating her live streams by viewbotting; instead, she maintained someone else had done it without her authorization. Moreover, she argued she was just searching for the program on Google and it inadvertently appeared on her stream. However, these explanations were not enough to prevent Gloria from being suspended due to a breach of Twitch’s Service Terms and Community Rules.

QueenGloriaRP is Still Streaming on Kick

Many people online questioned Gloria’s assertion that she wasn’t using viewbots, labeling it a “flimsy justification” to hide her error. Streamer Whiz additionally accused her of having unusual viewership surges on both Twitch and Kick. While the duration of her ban remains undisclosed, many speculate that she may have been permanently banned from Twitch, similar to Adin Ross due to this situation. Nevertheless, Gloria remains active on Kick, primarily interacting with viewers through Just Chatting and gambling streams.

In the streaming community, viewbotting has been a persistent problem. Figures like Asmongold have accused Twitch streamers of engaging in this practice to artificially boost their view counts. Moreover, Trainwreck, a co-founder of Kick and a streamer himself, alleged last November that certain streamers were spending around $20,000 per week on sophisticated bots. Additionally, there are suspicions within the Kick team that its top streamer, N3on, had approximately 60,000 bots inflating his view statistics.

In today’s world, where streaming and content creation have become profitable fields, an increasing number of individuals are testing the waters. Yet, it can be challenging to make a mark amidst the multitude of other creators, leading some to consider unconventional tactics, such as viewbotting, to garner attention on their chosen platforms.
