“33 Immortals” is a high-intensity cooperative action game with a roguelike twist, where you team up with 32 other Rebel Souls to battle your way through the mysterious realm known as the Beyond. Your objective is to confront legendary monsters and immortal entities. The adventure draws inspiration from The Divine Comedy, starting in Inferno. However, access to the second and third regions, namely Purgatorio and Paradiso, is restricted by obtaining special keys.

As an enthusiastic player, I want to share with fellow fans how to obtain the elusive Purgatorio Key in the game, 33 Immortals. Unlike common items you might find in NPC shops or dropped by regular mobs and elites in Dark Woods or Beyond, this key is a rare treasure. It can only be obtained from a specific enemy that appears once you’ve reached the end of your run in Inferno. Here’s my guide on how to get Purgatorio Keys.

How to Get Purgatorio Keys in 33 Immortals

Unlike Paragons or other resources found in “33 Immortals,” Purgatorio Keys aren’t obtained from elites or Torture Chambers. Instead, you must confront Lucifer, the principal boss of the Inferno biome, to acquire this unique key.

To confront Lucifer, you must initially navigate through the Torture Chambers marked on your map first. As more of these are conquered by players, Ascension Battles will become accessible. These unique engagements involve reaching one of the three Ascension Battle locations on the map and surviving successive waves of enemies. Once all mobs and elites have been defeated, you’ll be given an opportunity to ascend. Press E (A on your controller) to initiate the Ascension, where you, alongside other survivors, can finally take on Lucifer.

Make sure to bring your best weapon and upgrade it beforehand.

Taking on Lucifer isn’t a walk in the park! With an impressive health bar of ten sections, it’s going to require teamwork and patience to whittle him down. The good news is that you don’t have to completely defeat him to get a Purgatorio Key. If you can successfully reduce his health from ten bars to seven, you’ll be rewarded with a Purgatorio Key. This key will grant you access to the Purgatorio from the Dark Woods in the game, 33 Immortals.

Lowering Lucifer’s health meters grants you one or more Eternal Shards intermittently. Once his health diminishes to 7 and 4 bars, you will secure a Purgatorio Key guaranteed. Moreover, vanquishing Lucifer yields a Legendary Treasure Chest, which in turn presents another complimentary Purgatorio Key.

How Do Purgatorio Keys in 33 Immortals Work?

As a devoted player in 33 Immortals, I can’t stress enough the importance of Purgatorio Keys for my journey beyond Inferno. At first, obtaining these keys may seem daunting due to the game’s challenging nature. However, as my Feat Level climbs and I hone my skills, tackling Lucifer becomes significantly less intimidating.

In Purgatorio, every visit requires using one of the special keys. Given that Purgatorio is significantly harder than Inferno, it’s advisable to get a good grasp of the game fundamentals before venturing inside.
