2025 was a fantastic year for Minecraft fans like me! During Minecraft Live 2025, we got a sneak peek at some amazing content that’s coming our way in the following year, but nothing could beat the cute reveal of the Happy Ghast and Ghastling. I was absolutely thrilled when I saw these adorable additions to our game!

At Minecraft Live 2025, Mojang shared information about two game updates coming up this year. One of the standout features was the introduction of a novel block called the Dried Ghast. This special block offers players an innovative twist on the usual threatening Ghast from the Nether. Players can transport the block to the Overworld, where it can be rehydrated to produce a Ghastling. This creature has a significantly cheerier demeanor than its Nether-living counterpart and can evolve into a Happy Ghast. Apart from being adorable, these passive mobs can be ridden, allowing players more flexibility when constructing in Survival mode, enhancing their movement.

Looking forward to the upcoming launch of Minecraft game, a Reddit user named Cowalla1 has crafted LEGO models of the Happy Ghast and Ghastling. On the game’s subreddit, this builder showcased photos of these mobs in a LEGO format, hinting at the possibility of an official set inspired by these creatures. As shown in the images, the player designed blocky figures for both the Happy Ghast and its smaller version. While Cowalla1 adapted the base of the Happy Ghast from the Ghast design by Cheesey Studios, they created the harness, goggles, and the design of the Ghastling on their own.

When sharing LEGO creations of the Ghastling on Reddit, the creator openly admitted that building it was tricky due to the tiny size of the mob making it difficult to accurately replicate details from the game version. Since posting their work, the post has amassed over 5.6K upvotes. Fans praised the builder for their swift construction skills and appreciated the inclusion of removable goggles on the Happy Ghast model. As expected, numerous users expressed interest in building similar custom versions of these mobs. Luckily, Cowalla1 disclosed that they had already made instructions for the designs and were awaiting approval on Rebrickable.

As a Minecraft enthusiast, I’m thrilled by the recent LEGO designs, which hint at the promise of exciting content updates coming our way around 2025. Although we’ll have to patiently wait for the second game drop of that year to officially introduce the Happy Ghast and Ghastling into the game, Mojang has teased that we might get a sneak peek of these mobs during testing soon!

Starting March 25th, the initial rollout of this year’s games from the creators of Happy Ghast and Ghastling will arrive. This release will introduce a wealth of new content, such as modified versions for chickens, pigs, and cows, along with visual enhancements for Minecraft in the future that players can anticipate.
