As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled about the latest update for my Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo! Now, I can customize the alarm time and mode for each day of the week – something the gaming community has been eagerly waiting for since its launch in October 2024. This unique Nintendo alarm clock has seen numerous patches over the past few months, with developers tirelessly working to fix issues and introduce fresh tunes and sounds for our listening pleasure.
Enthusiasts of video games seeking to inject some excitement into their daily wake-up ritual have been singing praises for Alarmo. This innovative device plays tunes and sounds from famous Nintendo franchises, and has the ability to detect whether you’ve left your bed. Certain settings will even nudge you with an urging noise if you take too long to rise. Although the $99 cost may seem high, Nintendo has consistently updated the clock with additional content and features, making it feasible for gamers to turn their mornings into a game. The upcoming March 2025 update will finally incorporate a much-anticipated feature that fans had been eagerly waiting for since its launch.
The latest version 3.0.0 of Alarmo is now available, offering several new features. You can now customize the alarm time and mode for each day of the week. A preview of the alarm sound will play on the selection screen, and you have the option to make the screen darker. Users can now check their device’s MAC address even without an internet connection, and the Sleepy Sounds mode has been fine-tuned. You can now set the duration of Sleepy Sounds from one minute up to an hour. The developers at Nintendo have also addressed some issues, enhanced stability, and improved overall usability. As previously announced, having a Switch Online subscription will no longer be necessary to use Alarmo, effective February 2025.
Recently, Alarmo received an update on Mario Day, introducing four fresh alarms inspired by the classic game “Super Mario Bros.” This also included a distinctive visual motif. Since its debut, the gadget had already been equipped with sounds and melodies from various Nintendo games such as “Super Mario Odyssey,” “Splatoon 3,” “Pikmin 4,” “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” “Ring Fit Adventure,” with additional content planned for later. The popular game “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” was incorporated in December, and a theme for the upcoming “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” is expected to be added soon.
Details about the eagerly awaited Nintendo Switch 2 will be disclosed in a special Nintendo Direct broadcast on April 2. Some enthusiasts ponder if Alarmo, a potential game, might work with the Switch 2 to extend its lifespan, or possibly include amiibo scanning functionality. Although it’s uncertain whether this matter will be discussed in the upcoming livestream, fans are excited about the possibility of learning when and how much Nintendo’s next console may cost.
