Recently, some gamers have been searching for titles that allow them to interact with and even pet adorable pets like dogs and cats. These experiences have become so popular that entire social media accounts are dedicated to sharing these heartwarming moments. In the gaming world, this feature has become increasingly common, making for some incredibly cute interactions. With Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft is once again giving players the opportunity to engage with pets, but this time they appear to have drawn inspiration from the world of Pokemon.
Initially, Pokemon and Assassin’s Creed Shadows might appear to have no connections whatsoever. One revolves around a popular series about capturing diverse, cute creatures, while the other follows an assassin and a samurai battling in 16th-century Japan. However, upon closer inspection, there exists one aspect that mirrors Nintendo’s extensive franchise. Although it may not transform the gameplay experience significantly, the introduction of pet collection in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an enjoyable extra element added to the established formula.
AC Shadows and Pokemon May Be More Alike Than Players Think
Players Can Collect All Sorts of Pets Throughout AC Shadows
In the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” players come across numerous cats and dogs that are ready to be petted throughout their adventure. If a player has never petted a specific type of pet before, they have the chance to collect it by giving it a pat. This newly collected pet can then be placed in their hideout, allowing them to fill their space with adorable creatures from all over. This adds a touch of the “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” mentality as players explore the world, hoping to interact with every pet they encounter. Fortunately, there are other methods to amass these pets as well.
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players have multiple opportunities to acquire unique pets. They can do so by completing specific missions, such as the Thrown to the Dogs pre-order quest. Additionally, certain merchants will offer various pets for purchase within the Hideout menu, like an Ox. Furthermore, there is a chance that players can unlock special animals upon finishing a Sumi-e Painting. Essentially, collecting these pets seems to be quite abundant in this game.
Assassin’s Creed Could Take This Feature Even Further
The collection aspect of this game’s pets is reminiscent of Pokemon in that some gamers might spend considerable time trying to amass every pet available in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Unlike Pokemon, there’s no way to engage in combat with these pets or watch them evolve, as they are meant to emulate real-world animals from 16th-century Japan. However, they serve as a delightful optional aesthetic touch for players to gather. This feature adds a nice twist to the gameplay, and Ubisoft could expand upon it through future updates.
Currently, a unique pet is available for pre-ordering in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Given this, it’s plausible that Ubisoft might introduce additional pets via post-release content. As new areas unfold, there will undoubtedly be more pets to uncover, and many players would appreciate the opportunity to expand their Hideout further. While the main narrative and gameplay should remain compelling, adding more pets as cosmetic extras seems like a reasonable addition that could please fans.
Adding these collectible critters enhances the experience in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows game for players seeking to elevate their hideouts further. Although Ubisoft may not have intentionally borrowed ideas from Pokemon for this feature, it does evoke a similar atmosphere. Moreover, interacting with these animals offers an engaging motivation to pet them all throughout the game.
