Chainsaw Man Part 2 Gets Final Update & Reveals The Series’ Future

Chainsaw Man Part 2 abruptly ended with the release of Chapter 232 on March 24, 2026.

The ending of Chapter 232 of Chainsaw Man feels much more conclusive than the end of Part 1, suggesting Tatsuki Fujimoto may have finished the series. While 12 pages from Part 2 remain unused—pages that could expand on the conclusion or tease a continuation—the cover art for Volume 24 strongly indicates the story is truly over.

After a long absence – since issue 11 – Denji is featured on the cover of the manga, but this time as himself, not as Chainsaw Man. While it might seem small, this detail in Chapter 232 strongly suggests that the current story arc of Chainsaw Man has ended, though a third part is still possible.

Chainsaw Man Reveals Volume 24’s Cover & Frees Denji of Chainsaw Man’s Chains

The cover of Chainsaw Man Volume 24 intentionally echoes the cover of Volume 11. Volume 11 showed Denji wearing Aki’s too-large Public Safety uniform during his fight with Makima. Now, Volume 24 depicts Denji in his own Public Safety uniform, a result of the timeline changes caused by Pochita’s sacrifice. He’s also wearing the eyepatch he has at both the beginning and end of the series.

Interestingly, Volume 24 is the only cover where Denji appears as just himself, rather than as Chainsaw Man. Because Volume 24 makes several references to Volume 11 – which concluded Part 1 – it strongly suggests that Part 2 will not be continued with any further chapters or volumes. The manga’s ambiguous ending appears to be definitive, a point emphasized by the volume’s description, which states,

The epic battle against the War Devil reaches its climax! Denji challenges Yoru to give Asa back her body, using his cunning and devil powers to trap her. As the world falls into disarray and important ideas vanish, the hidden emotions of Yoru, Asa, and Denji are revealed. Will they ever achieve the happiness they hoped for with Pochita? This intense and brutal action series concludes with a shocking finale!

The latest volume of Chainsaw Man (Volume 24) strongly suggests the story is over, labeling Denji and Yoru’s battle as the “grand finale.” However, an earlier volume (Volume 11) also called Denji’s fight with Makima the “final confrontation,” leaving the possibility of a third part open. Also hinting at more to come, the cover of Volume 24 echoes the ending of the first part of the series, rather than being completely new artwork to mark the end of the entire story.

Chainsaw Man Volume 24’s Mysterious 12 Pages Could Change Everything

The 24th volume of Chainsaw Man will be released in Japan on June 4, 2026, and includes chapters 223-232 of Part 2. However, the volume isn’t quite full – there are 12 blank pages. Since chapters in Part 2 usually had 14-15 pages, these remaining pages will likely be used for a short chapter 233, which could either introduce the beginning of Part 3 or offer a slightly extended ending to the series.

I’ve been seeing a lot of speculation about these extra 12 pages included with the final volume of Chainsaw Man Part 2. They could be anything – blank pages, doodles of Pochita, or maybe even some material used to expand the ending. Honestly, the best outcome would be confirmation that the series isn’t finished and that Part 3 is still a possibility. We did have a significant wait between Part 1 and Part 2 while Fujimoto worked on other things, so it’s not out of the question. We’ll all find out for sure when the final volume drops in June. But right now, even someone who could see the future wouldn’t know what’s next for Chainsaw Man.
