A LEGO enthusiast shared their amazing creation of a Big Daddy from the BioShock video game series online. They built it using instructions from another LEGO designer. The creator also crafted a miniature figure of Jack, the hero from the first BioShock game, to accompany the Big Daddy.
A “MOC” build, short for “My Own Creation,” refers to LEGO creations built without instructions. Instead of following a set plan, builders use pieces from various LEGO sets to design their own models – anything from locations to characters, even if official kits don’t exist. A great example is a fan who built a T-800 endoskeleton bust from the Terminator movies using parts from multiple LEGO sets. While LEGO is well-known for its official kits, the creativity of fans has made these custom MOC builds incredibly popular.
BioShock Fan Shares Amazing Big Daddy LEGO MOC Build
Fans of the game BioShock have often created tributes to the Big Daddy, but one fan recently built an impressive version using LEGOs. Redditor SgtBlackDeer shared their creation – a Bouncer Big Daddy – on both the LEGO and BioShock subreddits. They used a variety of brown, gray, gold, and red LEGO pieces to bring the iconic enemy to life. SgtBlackDeer adapted a design by content creator FinCantBuild, rounding out the head slightly. The build featured a drill in place of the Big Daddy’s right hand, and its arms and legs were constructed from various gray, brown, and gold pieces. The Big Daddy’s protective cage was created using gold hoses, and smaller pieces stood in for the lights on the helmet. Two gray oxygen tanks with a red valve on one completed the look on its back.
Big Daddies are memorable characters in the first two BioShock games, always seen with a Little Sister who relies on them for protection. They fiercely defend these Little Sisters and will attack anyone they perceive as a threat. The most recognizable type, the Bouncer, carries a powerful drill capable of breaking through almost anything. Despite being central to the BioShock series, Big Daddies weren’t included in the 2017 game, BioShock Infinite.
SgtBlackDeer created a small Jack figure to accompany their Big Daddy LEGO build, providing a sense of scale. Many fans then requested that SgtBlackDeer share more of their BioShockinspired creations. With LEGO fans actively purchasing sets for their own projects this May, it’s unclear how many will be motivated to build their own BioShock* models.

Okay, so about BioShock 4… it’s taking a little longer to develop than we all hoped. But 2K’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, recently said he’s actually feeling pretty good about how it’s coming along now. We’re still waiting to hear more details about where the series is headed, and honestly, I’m dying to know if we’ll see those awesome Big Daddies make a return in the next game. We’ll just have to wait and see, I guess!
