OpTic Texas Repeats History, Drops Pred for Huke Again

Today, OpTic Gaming revealed a significant shift in their OpTic Texas Call of Duty team lineup, a move that fans are familiar with having occurred previously within a short timeframe. For the second instance this past few months, OpTic Texas has opted to replace Amer “Pred” Zulbeari with Cuyler “Huke” Garland.

Huke In, Pred Out of OpTic Texas to Kick Off Another Call of Duty Rostermania Period

OpTic Gaming formally bid farewell and expressed gratitude towards Pred recently, acknowledging his “zeal and vigor.” In December, shortly after OpTic Texas won the CDL championship, Pred shifted to the inactive roster due to the need to manage personal matters and improve mental well-being. However, a few days later, he announced himself as a free agent, despite still being under contract with OpTic.

After spending over a year away, Huke resumed his role on the OpTic team following a break. Following his triumph at the CDL Championship with Dallas Empire in 2020, Huke had moved around various positions, taking temporary roles with LA Thieves, LA Guerillas, and the Seattle/Vancouver Surge. However, OpTic faced difficulties this season even with Huke on their roster. Despite Pred’s return to the starting lineup in February, the team’s performance only worsened.

Prior to the last weekend’s Stage Two Major, OpTic Texas recruited Cesar “Skyz” Bueno following a difficult period for Kenneth “Kenny” Williams who opted to leave the team. With this being their second major roster shift, OpTic Texas is now focusing on the Stage 3 Major Qualifiers commencing in early April. However, it’s important to note that OpTic Texas isn’t alone in making changes, as other teams are also likely to make adjustments ahead of the next Call of Duty League stage.
