This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Summary
- Ikemoto focuses on next-gen ninjas, neglecting old Naruto characters.
- Fans anticipate Kakashi’s involvement in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series.
- Kakashi could offer guidance and wisdom to the next generation ninjas.
I’ve found myself observing that Boruto has indeed built upon the strong foundation laid by the Naruto series, even though it doesn’t quite match the popularity of its predecessor. Devotees of the Boruto franchise have been largely satisfied with the series so far, and the second installment, Two Blue Vortex, seems to have addressed numerous criticisms and taken the storyline a step forward.
One key aspect that Boruto enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating is the reappearance of Naruto characters. It seems that many shinobi from the Naruto era have been mostly absent in Boruto, which leaves some Naruto fans feeling let down at times. Yet, it looks like a significant character from the Naruto series might play a crucial role soon, and this prospect has fans on the edge of their seats, eager to see what unfolds ahead.
Why Many Old Naruto Characters Don’t Show Up Often
- Ikemoto Wants To Focus Solely On Next Generations Ninjas
- Only Some Next Gen Ninjas Get Attention
Initially, I found it quite peculiar that Boruto, our beloved series, seemed to shunt most of the Naruto characters off to the sidelines. Don’t get me wrong, we saw the initial appearances of heavyweights like Naruto and Sasuke, but as time went on, even their roles started to shrink significantly. The rest of the cast seldom made an appearance in the narrative, which at times left the Boruto universe feeling disjointed. This becomes particularly noticeable when you consider how crucial it is for continuity’s sake, both in terms of world-building and making the story feel like a genuine continuation of Naruto.
This isn’t my dad’s story anymore. This is my story! — Boruto Uzumaki
Unfortunately, unlike some fans hoped, the Boruto series didn’t delve into certain paths, leading to a noticeable disconnect at times. The author appears to have prioritized the new ninjas of the Boruto universe, but even within this focus, only Boruto and Kawaki received substantial development. Many other characters were left underdeveloped in the narrative, indicating that even the main characters didn’t receive as much attention as desired in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
Ikemoto Wants To Add Kakashi To The Story
Kakashi Might Show Up In Two Blue Vortex
In contrast to how the initial Boruto series tended to focus more on the main cast, it’s clear that Two Blue Vortex is taking a unique approach by giving side characters more screen time. We’ve witnessed battles involving Team 10 and even saw Himawari step into the limelight. Notably, some sand ninjas are playing significant roles right now, and characters like Mitsuki, Sarada, and Konohamaru are finally getting the attention they’ve been deserving.
In the end, the next generation always ends up surpassing the old generation. — Kakashi Hatake
It’s possible that classic Naruto characters might join the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series in the near future. In fact, Kakashi’s role in the storyline has been mentioned by Ikemoto previously.
Are there any Naruto characters from the original series who haven’t appeared in Boruto yet, and if given the opportunity, would you enjoy designing them in their adult forms?
Ikemoto raises an intriguing point: Despite being highly popular, Kakashi-sensei seems to have limited screen time in the series. It certainly is perplexing. However, I’m afraid I can’t offer any explanations on this matter.
Despite Ikemoto concealing Kakashi’s real part in the Two Blue Vortex, fans anticipate a moment when he’ll be summoned to act, and let’s hope that time comes more swiftly than gradually.
What Role Could Kakashi Play In The Future?
Kakashi Could Be A Guide In Boruto
In the series of Boruto, Kakashi isn’t at his peak, but neither is he weak. Fans recognize that Kakashi Hatake still holds significant power. Primarily, he should be rich in experience and wisdom, which could prove beneficial for the young ninjas in the world of Boruto.
As an anime enthusiast, I’d say Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha can certainly benefit from studying Sasuke’s techniques when he’s not around. For one, Boruto could gain valuable insights. Meanwhile, Sarada, having just awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan, might find it helpful to hone her control over it by learning from his methods.
It’s quite possible that Kakashi might take on a substantial part in the series Boruto, and fans would definitely appreciate it. However, whether this happens soon, later on, or if the author has altered his plans regarding Kakashi’s participation is yet to be determined.
You can read Boruto for free on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus app, thanks to Viz Media! Fans can officially access the series this way. Mark your calendars – the next chapter, titled ‘Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 21’, is scheduled for release on April 18, 2025.
